I would love to do so, I would have to dig up the old archives and detail the bombing of Durandalia, and the subsequent fleet battles/

The Minmatar soldiers were told that corrupt officials were meeting with their buyers and given orders to make them all dead. The corrupt officials themselves were simply dealing with buyer #476, they didn't much care were the weapons were going. So not to worry, your secret's safe.Thirdfain wrote:Spyder, for your information, no one knows what Blackeyes are, or have heard the term uttered, with the exception of some high-ranking Ousters and the Vampire lord Basil the Red-Handed. You'd know them as reps of EdgeWorks Inc., a BIC puppet corporation. Their conection to the Hajr would be quite invisible.
Also, if you could play in a little ambiguity on exactly what happened I'd appreciate it, there would have been unidentified transports within the area that after some investigation would implicate the pirate fleet. That's up to you though.
Oh BTW, if anyone has any plans on offing Spyder, go for it. There's a scenario I wouldn't mind exploring but it requires him being dead.

We'll see. As for ambiguity, it's not like Spyder isn't the prime suspect in this (the corporate tools don't deal with the pirates, and the pirates steal and capture stuff, they don't just torpedo two ships and disappear.)
I'll follow those leads, but I suspect that once the owners of the second destroyed vessel are identified...
I still wonder why the blackeyes even went to the same meeting as the pirates.

Possibility of acquiring a deniable dreadnaught for Ouster use would be a pretty compelling reason I think.Thirdfain wrote:We'll see. "Come to this meeting, we'll sell you a fucking Dreadnought! Don't mind the strangers who will be there with us, they are just some pirates, not anything to worry about!"Possibility of acquiring a deniable dreadnaught for Ouster use would be a pretty compelling reason I think.

Presumably they had done their research, and just got cocky because of the lack of prior governmental action. Arrogance is one of your culture's noticeable traits you know.Thirdfain wrote:"Come to this meeting, we'll sell you a fucking Dreadnought! As for the game itself, Since stormbringer has left, and i'm without any allies, i'm considering re-joining the now Quadruple alliance.

They weren't told about them until they got there. It was basically just to show that the Minmatar was being sold out to anyone with an open chequebook.Thirdfain wrote:We'll see. Hey Bugsby, how would a technician get that recording? When only officers were present?

You are going to actually have to work for that information Bugsby. What do you think we do? Tape interrogation and execution for posterity and give home videos to the crew?

How would the technician get the recording? Its fairly simple. First, the interrogations would have been recorded. Interrogations are always recorded so that any confessions have proof. Its SOP pretty much anywhere.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Hey Bugsby, how would a technician get that recording? When only officers were present?
Second, you made the interrogation ON THE SHIP where you attacked the pirates. There are plenty of security guards and the like who would have access to the ship's internal security systems, and a few less (but still plenty) who would have access to the more sensitive closed-circuit material. I dont imagine that every one of your cruisers has a high-security interrogation area set up onboard. If they do, that certainly speaks volumes about your nation..... furthermore, you were dumping people out AIRLOCKS. Airlocks would definately be monitored by the ships general security systems. Suggesting that a main entrance/egress point from the ship wouldn't have any kind of general security system on it is bogus. From there, it is a simple case of having the guard on duty see what is on the tapes, not like what he is seeing, make a copy, and request shore leave. All like I said in my post.
I will accept that you got my agent, but I feel pretty certain that I could have gotten that info. Although if you have the agent, you could trace the leak back to me... bleh.
This is my case, and I would welcome a mod's opinion on this if you aren't convinced.

Well, I figure if you can take control of my troops and have contacts, I can have double agents And he was taken BEFORE he sent the info.
Your agent may have that info, but he isnt getting out of the republic. It wouldprobably best if he bit his cyanide pill

It is going to be harder than you think though, we operate on an entirely different set of instincts tha humans. Fore one, we are pack hunting social darwinists. While friendly and gregarious, anyone who attacks the group(an act of piracy for example) and is caught red handed by numerous credible witnesses.. well lets just say that we have a faster express lane than texas for the death penalty. It is accepted and embraced by the population.Bugsby wrote:Very well.... you seem to have conceded that the info could leak, in which case I concede the double agent. Serves me right for trusting a damn lizard bartender!
Our justicce system is extremely harsh if they establish guilt beyond doubt in serious crimes. Piracy is punished automatically by death if it takes place in our space. So is murder, rape, and yongling molestation. If you get caught, you die no ifs ands or buts, unless the killing was accidental or in self defense. The death penalty is viewed as the ultimate form of justice by the vast majority of the population.
Also, when it occurs in our space, we are not above torturing prisoners who are already found guilty, this is also, deemed morally acceptable. While it is not ok to torture people who have not been convicted(or caught red handed) It IS acceptable to torture people who have commited capital crimes if for example, they can lead you to their hidden base. The chance of a citizen, let alone a soldier, not liking what he sees in these interrogation, is slim to none.
It isnt like our people are squeemish. They still eat raw meat from kills they make on the forest floor. WHich they kill by hand, with tooth and claw.
We are tolerant and accepting, so long as you dont harm us. Once that happens, the smile disappears and is replaced with a fanged snarl.
