I understand that, but it's not as though one can let him continue to derail threads and post bullshit threads of his own over and over again without consequence...Darth Wong wrote: We normally ban for trolling, not just for being dense.

The consequence is the mockery and rebutting of things he posts. Where does it say they were having a meeting discussing the events. The only reference to a meeting I see is the past-tense version in the opening stentence. Was he having a meeting with the people he just had a meeting with prior? I guess that would make sense, since they must have all been there already.I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting - we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation.

Ok.... let me try to explain this. John Kerry says, "And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building." His statement sounds as though he was watching this live. I suppose you could make a case for that not being the case, but it sure sounds like it. He then says, "And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think." Self explanatory. However, immediately after he says, "and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon." This entire statement makes it sound as he came in, watched the plane hit the WTC, and then sat down, with "nobody able to think," until "boom" the pentagon explosion. Now, if you ask me, taking this at face value, it would look as though between the time the 2nd plane hit the WTC and the plane hit the pentagon, he was still sitting down. This was a period of 40 minutes.Frank Hipper wrote:Karrde claims Kerry sat immobilsied for the forty minutes in between the second strike at the World Trade Center and the attack on the Pentagon, what makes him so sure that they watched the second plane hit in New Yorck on live television and that forty minutes elapsed between the two events? Can he prove it?

You aren't "explaining" shit. You are repeating yourself. You are saying the same thing you did before, without anything to back up your claims.

You miss the basic point brought up at the beginning of this thread, Karrde. The thing is, KERRY WAS NOT COMMANDER IN CHIEF. He didn't have anything to do when the attacks were taking place. Now, I know how you will respond to this, by repeating your original point that Kerry was "unable to think," and thus criticizing Bush is hypocritical. But consider this. Kerry was in no position to be placed outside of his shock. He was just sitting with friends and colleagues trying to cope with what they were hearing. Bush, on the other hand, was sitting in a classroom. Not even reading, he was being read to by the teacher. At the same time, a corps of aids and staff were standing to the side waiting for him to say something, but instead he just kept on listening to the story.
Kerry's situation is not comparable to Bush's because there was no one standing by Kerry telling what happened and asking "What are YOU going to do about it?" There was in Bush's case, and he failed to act.
Also, I would respectfully ask you to get off your cross, especially because you had no intention of debating in the OP, only presenting an opinion you were already convinced was right. You made a deliberately agressive statement in the OP, and when people tried to refute your argument, you took attacks on your statement as personal attacks, and bitched about that so much that they did become personal attacks on your poor method of argumentation.
