On the contrary - I'm sorry my question is being misinterpreted or that there is a perceived motive behind it. However if you are convinced that I was asking a dishonest question then there are not many options left. What method of departure would you find more palatable, its your board you could ban me if you choose?

The multitude of actions that would be needed to make me support Bush...

Repeal PATRIOT. Set fire to everything written to promote PATRIOT 2. Dancing naked around the flaming remains is bonus points.

Repeal and then set fire to everything involving his 'faith based initiaitives'. Again, dancing naked around the resulting bonfire is not required, but encouraged.

Reinstate the case against Microsoft he simply shut down when he came to office. Open cases against Halliburten and others who have been blatantly abusing their positions.

Fire John Ashcroft. If fired out of a cannon, bonus points.

Support the full legalization of Gay Marriage. Publically apologize for his previous statements on the matter.

Fully disclose his acts against the progress of Science and Research. Publically apologize.

Fund NASA to actually do all these wonderful ideas they came up with.

Get on his knees in front of the UN and apologize for his entire presidency.

As above, with NATO. Allowing self to be abused by French and Germans earns bonus points.

Rework Medicare/Medicaid into a 'single payer' safety-net system for all Americans.

Reveal Dick Cheney's true, dark nature on national, live TV.

SirNirtrams ideas sound about right to me. However, I'd have to subtract bonus points for the "dancing naked" part....

On the other hand, if he had his daughters do the dancing....

Sorry, I just can't agree with you on this point. The Germans and especially the French were being just as dickish about it as Bush was and the French went so far as try and create an anti American voting bloc for the speceific agenda of countering the US and I found that most disturbing coming from an ally. The Germans at least never actually actively opposed us nor kept selling weapons to the Iraqis. It was a low point on both sides of the relationship. At least it revealed the French to be the empty suits they've been since '39.

See the movie "Dave" for the sequence of events that would be required for me to vote to re-elect President Bush.

Why not?
Montana experimented with that concept. Montana then removed the no speed limit law because too many people were being killed and the highway patrol were unequaly pulling people over for reckless driving (IE speeding to much). Some would pull you over for doing 80, others wouldn't touch you till you hit 120. Made it hard to determine what was "Reasonable and prudent" when the cops didn't use the same system. Though the issue of our highway deaths skyrocketing was also important.

I was unclear, I was referring primarily to the 75mph limit part.

The stuff about 'bonus points' was there for levity. I'm British, do you really think I consider the French relevent, much less important enough to mock a major UK ally? Equally, while the image of a white old guy dancing naked around a fire is funny from afar, that would be nasty to watch.

I'd type it myself but Nitram hit most of my points (minus the UN and NATO parts). The renewing of the PATRIOT Act was my breaking point. I voted for the bastard in 2000. Not this year asshole. PATRIOT II is something I make a deal with the devil to avoid.

I'll add one thing.

I want a public apology for making people sign a fucking loyality oath to enter a Republician Political event. That was just diguesting and smelled of Soviet Tactics, if not Nazi Germany. I also want a signed in blood oath that we will never see that or anything like it again.

The unwritten speed limit in Canada is 120km/h, or about 75mph. Works just fine and as long as drivers pay a bit of attention. This of course could be a problem in the US where people are braindead idiot drivers, but the licensing requirements can be fixed to take care of that. If you know what you're doing you can easily & safely cruise along at 90mph all day.

Well, I could get a full frontal lobotomy like his.

Or, if he signed a legally binding document that if I voted for him and he did get elected, I could beat him about the head with a surgical 2 by 4 and then once I was satisfied he'd retire.....and if he didnt get elected I could just wail on him with the surgical 2 by 4 anyway.....

What's the matter with you? Be a man, admit that you forgot your "single action" condition when you posted:

So you are going to take the position that nothing will ever allow your perception of him to change? Thats fairly definitive then.

and move along. Je-sus!

There's certainly no single thing he could do to make me support him politically (as so many others have pointed out), but if he was tortured to death, I'd feel really sorry for him. I don't think he deserves to be tortured to death.

So, he's got that going for him.

I hadn't thought of that. Something must be wrong with me.

A donation of at least several thousand dollars to my bank account would get me to vote for Bush.
