I'm not afraid. If this is the prologue to a big alien invasion, then there will probably be some big flaw with their plan that allows us to destroy them regardless of how little sense it makes, like in Independence Day.

What about the micro-black hole theory?
Creating a multi megaton explosion does not require a black hole. The kinetic energy of a impact is sufficient.

I checked the Interfax newsagency, and they did report about the finding. Apparently, the local authority supports the story. While I think it's very, very, very unlikely to be a 'device of extra-terrestial origin' it's going to be interesting to learn about the analysis later. It could be an important discovery (albeit not about aliens).
