I wouldn't call it simply the Right's response. Alot of people do it. If you can't beat 'em logically, you throw up a smokescreen and try and ad hominize.

Why do people assume because Moore said it or that because it is in a "documetary" it is fact. He is extremely decietful and claims he is the embodiment of truth. see HERE how decietful he is.
And if I build a house out of shitty materials and say it is made from top quality stuff, should anyone be surprised when visitors come over and tell me I am full of shit and my house is a piece of shit?

Why do people assume that because scientists said it or that because it's in a "science" book, it is fact? Scientists are extremely deceitful and claim that they are the embodiment of truth. See here how deceitful they are.

Dave Kopel is a rabid rightie, and thus really doesn't have much credibility on this board. You would have been far better off linking to Spinsanity's review of Fahrenheit 9/11...

Besides, Kopel's assault on Moore includes some of the usual right-wing bullshit thrown against Moore, including treason, hatred of America, and aiding terrorists. However, Moore doesn't help his case against these accusations when he writes stuff like this:
