Is it any wonder that fans of the Timm-verse are already shooting this down and that it hasn't aired yet (unless you were at Comic-Con, where you would have seen a large group of nerds in the back when they showed the pilot shouting, "We want Kevin Conroy!")

1. Who designed those characters? Whoever they are, they need to stop drawing.
2. Wtf did they do to the Joker? I loved the way he used to look. He had that psychopathic look to him, but not the slack jawed, fucked up hairstyle like that guy.
3. Why isn't Joker being voiced by Mark Hamill? He was *the* voice of the Joker.
4. After looking at Mr. Freeze, I think the character designer needs to be dumped on a deserted island, far, far away from pencils and paper.
5. Penguin's hair needs to be black. Other than that, I like the design, very Batman Returnish.

Do I get to very nearly kill those people please? What they did to Freeze ist just horrible and the Joker doen't doesn't bear thinking about. Looks like they got him confused with the Creeper (newsflash:that was one of the good guys...)

Jim Gordon's absence is indeed disturbing- even with his retirement after the "Officer Down" storyline, it's still hard to think of Batman and his world without Jim Gordon.

And it seems the new commisioner or whoever is going to be an antagonist to the caped-one. I don't know. The series could have potential, but probably not.

Oh, and yeah, the toys are already out so you can see the same bad designs in 3-D plastic form at your nearest Toy Department or Store.

Well in the comics, there's been a constant recurring character since a 1996 issue named MacKenzie "Hardback" Bock who was an African-American Detective who eventually kept getting promoted, including becoming in charge of the Organized Crimes Unit of Gotham until Gordon left and he became Chief of Police. The guy is an apparent bookworm "hence Hardback" and pretty handy with firearms as well.

His notable career points include blowing away KGBeast with a shotgun and shooting a bungee jumping assassin that came crashing through a window ala Batman style repeatedly.

But mainly he's simply a very intelligent and smart Detective. (as comics go :p)

Well i like the character designs. Batman looks newer, more menacing in some ways. Though i didnt like his face, i wouldve redone that, but i like how he looks more mean and pissed and less brooding and dark. If my family was killed i be fuckin' pissed not 'totured'.

Joker looks wierd, but he's crazy, i never understood him wearing a suit and bowtie, this looks more like what a nutcase would dress like. A real nutcase would look like he's walking the streets, not going to a freakin' cocktail party.

Bane looks cool, IMO. More monsterous and menacing, cause i never found his previous incarnations very freightening.

And i'm glad that they are using a different style than the 'animated' stuff people have been using for so long. It had an effect of making teh women look, how shall i say...flat as boards (or more precisely, with little points for breasts, or were those supposed to be nipples?). Finally Catwoman has actual visible breasts like in the comic books. And i value that quite highly.

Freeze looks more high-tech and cooler. No pun intended. I think the white pads in his hands will replace his freeze gun, which while changing his character, gives him more versitility actually. You can knocka gun out of a person's hands, but you cant knock their hands off without a broadsword.

Mind you Penguin looks kinda' weak, but i never really liked him anyway so...still the egg-like shape does go with the bird motif.

Dudes, this is how the Joker should look. He's fucking crazy, and he's been horribly disfigured by toxic chemicals, but they always had him looking like some reject from the 30s, it was stupid. This way he looks like a homeless nutjob who caught some major bad shit one day, and that works fine for me. He looks as crazy and broke ass as he always acted.

Now lets see how they do Harley Quinn next. And God bless the animators if they actually draw boobs on her this time around and not pointy little nubs jutting out of her chest like Bruce Timm.
