Nashtar, go to war? Yeah, ok. I suspect that'll be happening the monday after the Asgard vote Democrat and Prince Jorm finally kicks that Ecstacy habit...

No offense, Dahak, but he is a party b0i...

I've done it before. In case you've failed to notice, I've been trying to get Straha's attention with some juicy convoys for the pirates, but he's been going on and on about the ground war like the pirate fleet has disappeared. But you're right, I have no intention of declaring war on pirates. One doesn't declare war on criminals. One merely prosecutes them. :P

Nitram, you got what you want, or at least his word that you'll get it within the time limit. Why press the matter further? If you plan on coming anyway, like that sounds, you will not win and unfortunately for your defensive pact, you'd be the aggressor.

It'll be days until his ships arrive, plenty of time for word of surrender to arrive and allow them to turn back.

Uhm, my post, two or three posts above that one.

I suggest you read it, explains why he made that post. As for winning, is it really necessary to risk that much over a dinky little planet? If you think so stick to it and see what happens...

Let's see. It's weeks from Etern space to Draconis, we're an aggressive, primitive, warlike society, and there's this magic thing called a Bluff. Of course, calling an Etern's bluff can be fatal when he decides to follow through, but I find it's fun to sword-shake and shield rattle.

Yeah, but bluffing a jumpy nation-state with a threat to it's very survival is a good way to bring the whole world down on yourself. If China were to sail its SSBNs at the West Coast saying that they were going to vaporize San Franciso and LA, what do you think the U.S.'s reaction would be?

I don't know, but it certainly would NOT involve posting in the OOC thread.

*Shrug* I'm not the one being threatened. When/if Alyrium is attacked, my treaty obligations come into play. Not before.

If you're going to threaten, have the decency to do it in the IC thread. Otherwise, enough with the sword-rattling out of character. It will not influence decisions because.. Surprise surprise.. Those are IC.

Unless I'm mistaken the Draconis just (in-game) signed the mutual defense pact with you. Am I mistaken, or is this incident going to be Grandfathered out?

I'll have you know that there is a Democratic party in the ASE, and they have all of three House Common seats. Does that count? :P

You're not mistaken, but until he's attacked there's not much I can do besides state opposition without starting the war myself, which is not a move I want to make at the moment.

If anyone's wondering, the erroneous reference to the Draconis "Empire" was intentional.

Again, we have some close to them. It's just with social equality taken for granted the only issues they share with Democrats are the one's that get them labeled as quacks. (Of course that applies to a fair amount of political doctrine from the latter half of the 20th century).

They were Cpt. Frank's in the orginal. But I played them as an NPC for a while. They've now been quietly annexed.

The People's Interplanetary Republic (of China!) From STGOD 1, remember? Recently conquered by the Asgard Star Empire. See this thread:

http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?t=47483

For a brief history of the STGOD so far, and the cast of characters. I'll add a section for the Minmatar right now.

Interesting note- I put the Minmatar on the map before I even knew you were rejoining :)

Straha, just to point out, Tortuga is in a pretty bad position to be just foisting a treaty on the Draconis Republic without negotiation.

Not really. The Tortugans have undoubtedly heard by now that the Draconis are operating under the sword of Damocles, and they're going to push for the best terms they can get.

The conditions were a cease fire. All we need do technically is remove our troops, and leave the tortugans to fend the themselves. We are being NICE for offering them anything at all.
