Is she that broken down old nag who got bitchslapped by that american girlie in the all-around?
The very same. she looks like a worn down Odessa porn queen.
She choked on the uneven bars last night. Smacked her feet against the lower one at one point. No gold for her there either.

When my friends and I were watching the all-around, at the end after the scores are up and she got owned and draped the Russian flag around herself, I said, "Hey, everybody, look at me! I'm still here!" It was pretty funny, since she's supposedly such a bitch.

Perhaps you should look at her when her head is in line with her body? :P

I did. I watched some of the olympic gymnastics. What I saw was a skeletally thin woman with buggy eyes. I wish I could find a picture on the web of her just as she was going up to do one of her routines and showed her with the exact expression on her face she had there. She is not an attractive woman. When she is wearing enough close to hide how emaciated she is, and when she smiles a little, she looks better. But at most generous, I would never use the term hottie in reference to her.

Well, just because its our first gold ever

The Jerusalem Post wrote: The Israeli flag rose to the sound of "HaTikva" rising from the blended voices of hundreds of Israelis singing aloud the national anthem and waving blue and white flags in the open stadium, just minutes after Gal Friedman was honored with Israel's first ever Olympic medal.

The Israeli flag rose in the center flanked by the Greek and British flags for Nikos Kaklamanakis and Nick Dempsey, who finished second a third consecutively.

"The whole country is very very proud of you," Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said in a personal address to Israel's first ever gold medal winner. "All the warmest blessings from all of us."

"Thank you to everyone in Israel, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all in Israel," Friedman responded. Now that he's won the gold, he said, he just wants to relax a little while and enjoy his success, and then start preparing for the next olympics in Beijing.

The nation's big day started few hours earlier when Friedman approached the finish line and threw a glance behind him, only to find that his closest challenger, Brazilian Ricardo Santos, was far behind.

Crossing the finish line, Friedman lifted his fist in jubilation and, as soon as his windsurfing boat stopped he jumped off it for a victory plunge.

"It is an amazing feeling; An indescribable feeling. I am happy all of you could see the surfing live on TV. I simply felt that an entire country was behind me," Friedman, wrapped in an Israeli flag, said.

"I had no idea where my energies were coming from," he said.

President Moshe Katsav congratulated Friedman on his achievement saying that he "brought all of us love and happiness."

Friedman sailed a remarkably consistent regatta in the Mistral windsurfing competition, never finishing worst than eighth in the 11-race series. He placed second in Wednesday's decisive race.

British windsurfer Nick Dempsey moved into first place with Gal trailing him by 18 seconds into the third float.

The route had been shortened and ended at the 4th float, and Friedman advanced towards the finishing line neck-to-neck just behind Dempsey.

Placing, however, was determined in relation to Brazilian Ricardo Santos, who placed 16th, and Gal placed first. He immediately pulled out his Israeli flag and draped it over himself.

Gal's teammates congregated on and around his surfboard after the race.

Gal's coach Gur Steinberg left his job at Motorola Semi-Conductors to coach him.

"Gal executed a brilliant race today that brought him in first," Steinberg told Channel 1. "We have a lot of experience and our strategy doesn't stand in the way of Gal's freedom to do what he feels is necessary."

"There were moments I was worried but the good guys always win," Gal said. "The feeling is great. It's a dream. I was focused all the time and I wasn't scared of the pressure. This is definitely the best way to win."

"At the start of the race, I was feeling a bit drained, but I suddenly felt a surge of energy, and I'm sure it was the energies of all those who are waiting for me back home," he said.

The Friedmans saw the race at the home of Gal's aunt in Carcur. Friends and family, whose cars filled the driveway and road, flowed into the kitchen and living room so that interviews were nearly impossible.

Gal's father Uri told Israel Radio that all his children love windsurfing. "It's very, very hard to believe that he succeeded in doing this," he said. "I've been sleeping a lot less lately, but it's all part of the game. Gal wrote to me that he slept better than we did."

According to CNN, the Athens Opening Ceremonies:
The opening ceremonies in Athens averaged a 14.4 rating or 25.1 million viewers.
That does nto bode well for the claim that billions of people watched the Olympics, even when you take into account the fact that the Olympics may be more significant in other nations than they are in the US.

Seriously. She is not attractive. I'll never know what Russian Playboy was thinking when they ran a feature on her.

Man, you guys have tuned into the wrong sport. Instead of watching gangly 16 year olds doing flips and twirling a batton you should have tuned into women's beach volleyball. You can't go wrong with women jumping around in the sand wearing two-piece bikinis!

I have seen it. Some of the players are okay looking. Some are frankly dog ugly. Some, like U.S. player Kerri Walsh, are not actually ugly, but they are not really at all attractive either - Walsh is tall, gangly, flat chested, and does not have a pretty face.

And unfortunately, NBC's olympic coverage does not seem to extend to showing any scenes of those bikini clad cheerleaders. Damn them to hell!

It sounds like Beach Volleyball was just like attending an all day party.

Since they all appear to be wearing variations on the sports bra I doubt it. However, the shorts/bikin bottoms that a lot of the female players "wear"

I was flipping through the channels and caught one of the synchronized swim teams doing one of their routines. They looked pretty cute to me. Am I the only one who found them to be lookers?

They usually look pretty good to me.

The nose plugs and the glued on forced smile can be kind of creepy though.
