It was two-thirds. Can since he declared more ships just consider them lousy ships?

Yes, those are the rules--though they won't be "lousy," just a little less tough and a little less hard-hitting.

Didn't we already agree that having your nation surrounded on all sides by Nebulae was not going to fly?

Rogue, I just fielded a PM from Thirdfain about your "Cluster Walls."

Since interstellar space is really quite vast, a stellar formation cannot act as a wall (even the most dense stellar cluster physically possible would have lightyears between stars), they can't actually function as walls. I believe we went over this before, didn't we?

The way I figure it they'd be 2/3rds of the power and survivablility of a comparable class in another nation. I grant you that's not lousy, but it's a big difference in performance.

Actually, I plan on fortifying the place real good. Of course that assumes Alyrium choses the smart route and pulls back. If not it's a war and I get the base after the dust settles. I hope it's the former to be honest, much clearner.
Why would they let you occupy when they could get the Draconis to pull out and fix most of the vital stuff that was destroyed and have no foreigners on their planet? (And yes, fortifying the world that much would require massive military presence, enough to be tantamount to occupation.)
Because the Draconis didn't agree to the treaty they're willing to sign?

I don't plan to treat them as nothing. It's just they'll be at a serious disadvantage.

Note the large holes in said nebulae. Nebulae are part of being in an open star cluster, but it's hardly insurmountable. I don't expect that to keep anyone out for very long, if at all.

And I forgot to label a planet. The independent system in the upper right of the cluster is Ernarn.

Edit: Oh, and Thirdfain can kiss my ass if he can't figure out a way to invade me through that. You'll note that the Pinnacle corridor is a couple lightyears wide. How is that an impassable barrier?

Hell, any one can invade you through that. Nebula aren't that signifcant a barrier. Just big dust clouds and that's not going to be a problem for most of us.

Yeah. I know. I have absolutely no plans on pleading nebula stoppage should anyone decide to enter the cluster.

How long was the hiatus supposed to last, again? Because this is looking suspiciously like breaking it, if fleets are already on the move. *Glances at Bugsby.*

It breaks at the end of August- I.E, a couple of days. When Frigid gets back, really.

I don't know how long Frigid's Internet is going to be down. Unless he told you guys but not me, which I find unlikely. Great.

*notices Rogue 9's glance*

I have just recieved word that Marcao is back in town! So since everyone is back, I would think that the hiatus is over. And besides, everyone got back just after I suggested the hiatus anyway. I know one or two people are still away, but we can't stop every time one person leaves. And magi has access through a library card, so....

ah, Im rambling. I think the hiatus was dead a few days after it started. Im ready to do what needs doin now. If anyone feels strongly that we should hold back, by all means, let us slow down. I dont think we should hold back, though. Thoughts?

No fleets moving on my part yet. They're just getting ready and are all set to basically a shot if they look funny stance. I'm still hoping for a diplomatic resolution.

The PIR surplus might start moving, but that's not a big issue.

Well sadly, we have a MASSIVE CONFLICT OF INTEREST preventing diplomatic resolution at the moment. Come on, seriously, would any of us have agreed to those treaty terms? I know I wouldn't have.

Not really that massive, the Tortugans want the Drakes off their planet with money left behind, and the Monacorans want the Drakes off the planet.

Also, seeing as how both of Marcao's allies are in the Coalition, I don't see how this changes much. THe only people not involved in this, so far, are Pablo and Thirdfain. Do you really want Pablo or Thirdfain to take over?

Straha, the difference is that you're using the Tortugans as a lever to give Monacora an advantage. Marcao wasn't doing that for the Veithans. Besides, you obviously don't just want him off the planet, as you have stated your intention to invade anyway even if he packs up and leaves in the next five minutes because the Tortugans hadn't approved a cease fire and aren't going to, because surprise surprise, you're controlling them and want to invade. This constitutes a conflict of interest much larger than any Marcao currently has.

No, I was using it to give the advantage to Tortuga. Tortuga gets everything, what do I get, added pressure. Trust me this is no new move me and some others were planning this since before I left two months ago. Also, if he leaves what's the point of the invasion, if he leaves I'll say that he's chickened out making the matter moot. Further more you seem stuck on this idea that it's only me willing to come in, forgetting Stormy, Dahak, Hotfoot, Nitram, Bugsby and anyone else slipping my mind at the moment. It's not just me that has a conflict of interest, but everyone so far, except for Thirdfain and Pablo.

Anyway, I'm off for the night and might not be here for most of tommorow. If the spam hits the fan, Stormy and Hotfoot have control.

How could you have been planning this since before you left? You had no way of knowing that control of the pirates would land in your lap before you left. And you're contradicting yourself. You've made an in-game post, the entire purpose of which was to say "We don't care if they stop shooting and leave, it's still not a cease fire and we're still invading." Make up your mind, will you?

Alyrium's been on the pirate thing for a while. And a lot of us planned to put diplomatic pressure on him to curb the rampant expansion of so many powers at the expense of NPC nations. And if need be war.

The fact is Straha's playing them as if they know Alyrium's invasion has triggered a shit storm, which it has. I do think Marcao should replace him as soon as possible. But I don't think Straha is out of line.
