What if......Dean was the DNC Candidate?

It would have been a much fairer fight, focusing on the issues, IMHO,
instead of refighting a 35 year old war.

Yes, but I believe he would have imploded much like he did in Iowa. His demeanor just doesn't set well with people.

He would have been smeared as crazy and unstable. Other than that, IMO he was rock solid on all the issues.

He was a vital(As in full of life, not necessary), enthusiastic politician who could stir up his supporters strongly, focus on the issues, and inspire folks.

He'd be smear-campaigned to death. The entire edifice of modern professional politics exists to destroy that sort of person.

I would have been more likely to consider voting for a Democrat with a non-stiff as a canditate, that's for sure.

the screaming and hollering really cost him alot of respect in the eyes of the democrats I know, of course they were more about John Edwards to begin with though, but they agree with me when I say I do not understand how people can like him(Dean).

I'm pretty sure the race would be just as nasty as it is now - you still have the 527s and their negative ads. They would just be different negative ads.

If Dean had won, I'd be voting Democratic in a Presidential election for the very first time.

Term limits can be just as much a double-edged sword as lack thereof. For example: On the plus side of having no term limits, Clinton would probably still be in office now. On the negative side, (and we'll use Canada as an example this time) it allows dumbasses like Jean Cretin to stay in office as long as they want if the opposition isn't strong enough...

He's pretty much said he'll opt out of T4 and Conan 3 is looking more and more like it's a pipe dreams. Anyway, I'd much rather have eight years the Terminator than a couple sequels.

Dean lost a lot of respect with me for doing that. I'm sorry, but that was NOT appropriate behavior, regardless of the situation in politics. Now I'm desperately looking for a non-moronic third party candidate whose views I can support.

How about Badnarik(sp?) [Libertarian]? I get the feeling you aren't Libertarian though.
