Israeli spy in the Pentagon

Post by Vympel »

CBS sources say that last year the suspected spy, described as a trusted analyst at the Pentagon, turned over a presidential directive on U.S. policy toward Iran while it was, "in the draft phase when U.S. policy-makers were still debating the policy."

This put the Israelis, according to one source, "inside the decision-making loop" so they could "try to influence the outcome."

Give them a few more billions in aid every year, that should stop em.

I'm surprised you didn't mention it was in Douglas Feith, UnderSecretary of Defense for Policy's office :D

Lets see how long it takes for claims of anti-semitism to be leveled at those who express outrage about this. Didnt take long when NZ caught Mossad operatives attempting to steal NZ passports.

Hamas are probably happy that the Israely spy has been caught. Therefore the US should make the spy feel welcome ;)
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Maybe we should do an over/ under betting line. I'll set the line at Saturday morning 11AM EST. At least one of the public affairs/ news shows will have someone calling the investigation anti-Semitic by then.

It's okay. As long as they get the sand pit that The Lord God promised them in the Old Testament.

 Oh come on, every major intelligence agency in the world keeps operatives everywhere it's worthwhile to keep them, even in allied countries. You really think there's no CIA station in the London embassy, for instance?

Does that means we should do nothing if we catch said spies? Are you serious?

An American citizen spying for a foreign power is a TRAITOR! Even if the country is friendly. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg got the electric chair because they were convicted of spying for Russia when the Russians were our allies in WW2.

I want to know why they let these Perle disciples anywhere near classified information in the first place. His pal, Stephen Bryen was kicked off the staff of the Senate Foreign Relations commmittee because he was overheard bragging that he would supply Israel with classified documents. Perle was overheard by FBI wiretaps discussing classified information with the Israeli embassy.

No, I didn't say we should do nothing. I said it shouldn't exactly be a big shock.

It doesn't surprise me at all, but a link to the story please.

No, they give them away for free.

Israel denies that papers on Iran were passed on to them IE no spying done

This is a stupid move on the part of Israel. Categorically denying that they've been spying is a good way to stick your foot in your mouth when you get caught.

I liked this part of the article most of all:
Israeli officials insisted Israel had not spied on the United States since being caught red-handed two decades ago in an espionage scandal involving U.S. Navy analyst Jonathan Pollard (search), arrested in 1985 outside the Israeli embassy.

"We deny carrying out any intelligence activity. It is a strange story," said a senior Israeli government official, who declined to be identified. "Israel, for many years, has not carried out intelligence activity in the United States."
In other words "We haven't spied on you since the last time we got caught spying on you!" What a silly thing to say.
