Telstra(Australian Telco) may be in hotwater

linky

Fucking finally

As any Australian who uses the internet seriously will tell you, Telstra has a lot to answer for. Over the last 6 months to a year the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) has been investigating Telstra of blatant predatory pricing(Retail prices being cheaper than wholesale price to resellers!)

Telstra has been issued a '155' notice under the TPA (Trade Practices Act), which basicly gives the ACCC far reaching investigative powers.
Section 155 grants the ACCC extensive powers to obtain documents, enter premises and to take copies of documents on the premises when the ACCC has reason to believe that the TPA has been contravened, and that a person is capable of producing documents “relating to a matter that constitutes, or may constitute, a contravention” of the TPA. Section 155(7) states that a person may not refuse to furnish documents or information on the grounds of self-incrimination
Hopefully the ACCC actually does something about Telstra's blatant market fixing.
