The bystanders... yes... The senators... no. Because they are still in a massive cavern beating their heads into a wall as Senator falco reads the fucking bible

Dude... he bombed in the wrong location... Um... he can kill the senator's families... but the senators are in a completly different location... If we have any sense of timeline at all, it hasnt been 6 daysThirdfain wrote:Having some senators die adds flavor, doesn't heavily (or even noticeably) harm you, and acknowledges the fact that Beowulf DID use his entire OOB of force against you.

To address both you and Aly...Hotfoot wrote:"Lasts the lifetime of the bike" simply means an efficient, long lasting power source. The power units on our modern satellites easily outlast the other components, but that doesn't mean they can create Nuclear Explosions (no matter what the woo-woo's said about the satellite we dumped into Jupiter).Beowulf wrote:And the "Lasts the lifetime of the bike" wasn't a huge tip-off that it could give alot of power?Alyrium Denryle wrote:ANd you autoed my customs officer, so he couldt arrest you, and you werent exactly forthcoming with the capabilities of a DC converter. That whole year between its last use, and hundreds of pages of posts... thing
A satelite's power source isn't designed to release all the power at once. And most satelites only last for a decade, with low power demands. Something capable of (admittedly slow) global travel would require a vastly larger amount of power, and an air bike would last a rather long time. Cars are designed to last for decades.
Did I say anything about rechargeable batteries? No? Well then. And what use would specifing fuel loads be?
As for the action itself. I told Aly that I was going to be doing death and destruction on Varathrax, before I even wrote the post about me showing up. Yes, he should have caught it. Did he? no. He told me that everything I brought would go through customs. I acquiesed. He should have tried looking at what I was bringing in! If he had questions, he certainly could have asked me what was up. Instead, he wrote a totally bullshit post that would have tried to catch me after I did my deed. And then he let me continue my plotting. It was obvious that I was going to be using the power cores to create big booms, because I posted that I was modifying them. Nobody brought it up then, asking what's up. And of course, nothing smaller than the bike would have managed to fit the cores in it anyway.

Between when I dropped the bomb on your HQ, at least enough time must have passed for the various nations to respond to the Etern's take-over, asking for represntatives, and the representatives to show up, from across known space, which is a week long journey.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Dude... he bombed in the wrong location... Since it is a filibuster, some of the senators would have just left the cavern because they don't have the inclination to wait around that shit and will return when he finishes. That's one of the reasons that a filibuster is performed--eventually the senators with less endurance or patience will leave and the party of the guy doing the filibuster will achieve of majority of those available for a vote. They then railroad the issue through.
So, I'm thinking an improvised chemical bomb that damages the facade and kills some senators and innocent bystanders. Given Alyrium's crazy "nice-guy libertarian" society there wouldn't be common-sense regulations in place to prevent the sale of potential explosives to random people. No invasion of privacy will be allowed, by jingo!

from what you said over AIM, I was under the impression that you would be doing something akin to pinpoint assassinations. Not NUKING A CITY. You never gave any indication that is what you would be doing. Not once.As for the action itself. Guns are one thing, but noone in their right ind will sell high explosives to someone at random. And those that will, wouldnt be worried about regulations.Pablo Sanchez wrote:Since it is a filibuster, some of the senators would have just left the cavern because they don't have the inclination to wait around that shit and will return when he finishes. Do you know how I did the kills on Karsus and Spyder? I PMed to Straha and Spyder, verbatim, the first draft of the post that went into the Game Thread, and asked for their thoughts and approval. No vague hints, just a complete guide to the assassination process. The targetted player is trusted not to metagame after negotiation on the post begins, and if he does metagame, he gets slapped by the modstick.Beowulf wrote:Yes, he should have caught it. Did he? no. It wouldn't need to be high explosives at all, just chemical components. Someone trained as Oni is would be able to craft a quite deadly bomb from fertilizer and put it in a rented van, a la Oklahoma City.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Guns are one thing, but noone in their right ind will sell high explosives to someone at random. Yeah, but no amount of regulation will stop that eitherPablo Sanchez wrote:It wouldn't need to be high explosives at all, just chemical components. For the record, since I was in control of the Amarr, I do approve of Frigid's post, and the losses he sustained. It was the inevitable conclusion, and I think it's rather fair overall, given the nature of the event. The Amarr never really stood a chance, but they gave a good showing of themselves nonetheless, and went out with their teeth tearing at the UP.

Lemme put it this way. In all the supposedly DS9 tech level STGODs we've had, none of them have had any complaints about me starting of with this. Hell, every one of my empires has used it, from STGOD1 to STGOD2 to my first empire in this STGOD. No one has complained.InnocentBystander wrote:Beowulf; all things aside. Can I ask you how a device that converts matter to energy direction is within the tech limit? None of this "Well I already said so, and you didn't see it, ha ha".
Aly, you let me get through customs high explosive shells for a "big game" rifle. Don't go whining that you can't get explosives. And most types of propellants for guns are actually low explosives.
As for assassinations, I've repeatedly said that avoiding collateral damage costs extra. What made you think I got paid extra for the assassinations?
And Thirdfain, thank you.

Next assassination will include a full PM of what is going to happen to whoever is my target to the target's controller.Pablo Sanchez wrote:Do you know how I did the kills on Karsus and Spyder? Don't thank me, your move was pretty ridiculous. Next time, don't try to behead a major nation in one blow. Think how much you'd dislike it if someone did the same thing to you.
I simply am pointing out that you'd be capable of dealing damage. The amount you initially claimed was over-the-top ridiculous.
