I'm pretty damn sure that's how it is too. Remember, the Abercrombie Assholes with the parents who can afford a whole Tank Division of Ford Excursion PanzerKampfWagens also tend to have parents who can afford to keep the school well-funded. Kids who don't have the rich rents tend toward countercultures like Goth, Geek, or Stoner because of disillusionment with the rich kids (who in my experience tend to have the free run of the school WITH THE BLESSING OF THE FACULTY NO LESS while us gothics/potheads/geeks/etc. get extra rules slapped on us so we see the inside of Detention Hall more than we care to remember).
Then we have the damn obnoxious rich-kid assholes themselves: When they're not running the school, they're beating down some defenseless geek or goth to somehow prove how big their genitalia are. Methinks they're just unwittingly enforcing The Rules (they tend to be easily led and do what they're told due to apparently inferior reasoning and critical-thinking skills) in their own fistfighting ways...
Goths are intimidating? Those are about the most peaceful sons o bitchses I ever knew. While I think the look is silly, I rather liked them- never had a single problem with a "Goth"

Sure kids are punks and think they know more than adults; but most punks and goths have ridiculous social and political theories which exist for no other reason than they are controversial and counterestablishment. Most high school kids do not know anything about politics or sociology in general.

Frankly, being with a heavy metal fan, I can see why this school would want to outlaw the Tshirts. Many of them depict bloody corpses and killings (*checks laundry basket* yep, def bloody and violent). Studded jewlery (if, by this, they mean the popular among goths spikes) is an obvious ban.
But the banning of the make-up is a little over the top. Theres no safety rule being broken there (well, accept maybe the proliferation of acne...) If a guy wants to where dark eye liner or a girl wants to paint her face white every morning, go for it!
They say the "younger" children are intimidated. Now, a school shouldnt be a place where you feel intimidated by others, but the fact isnt gonna change that that happens. Maybe they need to open some dialogue. My ideas on how to unintimidate children stop there tho...but teachers could encourage the kids in this "culture" to maybe talk to the younger ones. No ideas on what to say tho LoL
