This reminds me.
About a month or two back, didn't the Republican party chair present Stewart with a press pass to the RNC? Because it seems to me like they can't get into the actual convention, whereas at the DNC they had Colbert climbing on press boxes and feeling up female attendees and they didn't seem to care.

A month or two back, Stewart hadn't spent a month or two ripping the GOP's MASSIVE mountain of dookie.

I remember the Democratic chairman giving Stewart a ticket to the DNC, but I don't remember the GOP chairman giving him anything even though he has been on the Daily Show at least twice this year.

One of these days you're going to realize that there is no hope. The world will become gray and dead, science and reason will recede into ignorace, and Bush will not only be reelected, but there will be a constitutional amendment to make him president for life. Reality fucking sucks, and I encourage you to spend as much time as possible on this board, because not long from now you will be part of the universal draft to support our invasions of Syria, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and every nation in the world that ends in "-stan."

Don't beg God for your false hope... haven't you been listening to the GOP platform? God is a Republican and a Jew. Just like Goldwater, if Goldwater had been a total asshole with a sodomy obsession on top of being an arch-conservative.

I honestly can't bring myself to think of what another 4 years with Bush will be like. CAN'T THE PEOPLE SEE? CAN'T THEY SEE THE MAN IS EVIL?

The problem is while many will admit that yeah, maybe Bush is evil, but he's strong and he's our evil.

Meanwhile, many have come to see Kerry has evil and weak. In a contest between weak evil and strong evil, knowing that whoever you pick is going to have to protect you, guess who many will chose?

However I am willing to rebel. I will vote Naider and even if we lose (shutup) continue to be a pain in ass to the victior.

See, when you start believing Bush is evil, well, you're as bad as the Republicans who mock Kerry by slapping purple heart Band-Aids on.

As far as I am aware there is not really any good evidence that Bush is "evil." But feel free to correct me on that.

Actually, after watching Thursday's Daily Show, it appears that they do have press passes, but aren't allowed on the convention floor itself. Where they got them, and if they were origionally going to be limited in this fashion I am less sure of.

Oh, and the GOP gave the press a free spa.

Not sure. They were allowed on the floor of the DNC. If memory serves, Ed Helms was washing the CNN press booth's window. :)

Oh yeah. The GOP knows how to court the press; they have to. They have no idea how to run the god damn country.

The Republicans are political geniuses. Only political geniuses could possibly find a way to make a decorated combat veteran look "weak" in comparison to a man who never saw combat and doesn't even have the balls to face Jon Stewart.

To be fair, Kerry doesn't look too strong, regardless. To me, it's not so much flip-flopping (although that's part of it). The problem is that he's consistently just followed the polls in choosing his votes. That's okay as a Senator (though, even there his record is somewhat unspectacular), but it's not good as a chief executive, where you need to do what's good for the country regardless of whether it's popular or not.

Moreover, his central promise to bring transparency to the government is almost comical given the fact that he's refused to take clear positions on numerous issues during the race.

It's not that the Republicans are political geniuses as much as their Democratic opponnents are political imbeciles. Because that's the only way the Bush campaign can conceivably get away with shit like this. Against any Democrat who had both balls and brains, Bush would be reduced to a quivering tonguetied blob and not even all of Karl Rove's dirty tricks would rescue him from a well-deserved oblivion.

You're a fucking idiot. He said that the Daily Show isn't real news (you quoted him thus twice in your post) so comparing it's bias* with that of Fox News is completely asinine.

Hmmm... completely asinine. That seems to fit you well. Let me ask you a question: Does the RNC build people like you from scratch in a secret West-Texas factory complex, or are you a natural born parrotting retard?

* For a demonstration of exactly how Liberal Biased the Daily Show is, watch any interview with John McCain. Hmm... a well-spoken and charismatic senator who strongly supports Bush and has conservative politics is treated with more respect than any other guest who ever appears on the Daily Show. Clear evidence of bias.

When was the last time you heard The Daily Show make any claims to be "Fair" and/or "Balanced." Have you ever heard The Daily Show make any claims that they are even "real news." So they can be fucking biased all they want, unlike Faux, who does claim to be fair and balanced, and they claim to be the real news. I wouldn't even have a problem so much with Faux if they would just come out and say "Hey, ok we admit it, we are news for conservatives." If they would just admit that fact, I wouldn't mind them. (Mike Wong posted in another thread that he read that Faux gave more time to Republicans by a 5:1 ratio. So there is quantitative data out there that Faux is biased)

Even though you are implying that The Daily Show has a liberal bias, I still don't think it has a liberal bias, just an "anti-Bull Shit" bias. And as it's been said before, it seems one side tends to throw more bull shit than the other, and as I'm sure you'll be kicking and screaming to admit, it's the Bush administration that is throwing most of the bull shit right now (And I don't believe The Daily Show is any "nicer" to the left, they can be equally scathing to the Democrats).

And something that pisses me off about all news (not just FNC) is that they let these mountains of bull shit slide from both sides, and that their idea of "reporting" is having someone like Wolf Blitzer asking a politician from each side the same question, and then just let the two give their points of view... and they call that "reporting," instead of just saying it's two douche bag's opinions.

So Talon, before you are so quick to dismiss The Daily Show as leftist trash, take a look at who is throwing out the most BS right now.

Also you might want to check your sense of humor, might be impaired if you can't even keep your politics out of what you can laugh at. I love as much to see Jon make fun of Kerry and people on my "side" as I do seeing Bush and the right getting their asses handed to him. All humor is fair game to me in politics, especially if someone is throwing out Bull Shit (even on the "left").
