Aliens trying to make contact?

Mysterious signal from space has been detected by a telescope in Puerto Rico three times. The signal is being transmitted on the frequency of hydrogen. Scientist thinks it is either an unknown astronomical phenomenon or aliens trying to make contact.

Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe. There is no natural, repeating source of radio waves for it. We broadcast that signal to the void for aliens to listen in on. We think that this is the natural signal for any alien intelligence that wishes to advertise their existence to the universe will broadcast on.

Errrr, yeah, that's roughly what I remember from the SETI sites I visited.

Might be similar to when they detected the first pulsars in the 1960s, could be some previously undiscovered astronomical phenonenon.

Hopefully it's something useful like the Macross about to crash down into Tokyo. Something we can use. Course...that'd mean them damn giant Zentradi bastards will be close at hand too, so...double edged sword, you know.
