Well, whether you agree with Miller and his position or not, you can understand where he was coming from in this case. Matthews was doing the same thing (or trying to) that he did to Michelle Malkin in an interview last week: he'll ask a question, let you get about five words into your answer, then start talking over you. He also uses loaded questions, and keeps coming back to the same question over and over again, even after you've laready answered it, clearly fishing for a certain answer. It's a tactic he only employs against people with whom he disagrees, and it would irritate anybody. Miller simply wouldn't sit still for it.

Michelle Malkin was spouting bullshit about Kerry's wounds besing self inflicted, and when he tried to get her to put up (evidence) or shut (the fuck) up she started bullshitting more, Mathews had every right to tell her to fuck off. But for the sake of argument, lets say you're absolutely correct...Zell Miller, a grown man, challenged another grown man to a DUEL at dawn! He's not six, he should have the tiny ammount of brainpower required to say to himself "Hmmm...this is live television, let me keep my mouth shut." before he says something that stupid. Did he? Nope...he went all 19th century...on LIVE TV no less.

Last time I checked Iowa was a battleground state. If Jersey were more on the line maybe you would have gotten a mention too.

At the Labour party conference you get some clapping after the guy finishes speaking and that is it, you certainly don't get flag waving and chanting but then again the guy on the podium avoids the kind of figurative flag waving American politicians engage in.

I would just like to say that I'm sick and freaking tired of people criticising Bush for mentioning 9/11.

It was the damn defining event of his presidency. Him not mentioning 9/11 would be like Churchill not mentioning the Blitz, Lincoln not mentioning the Civil War, or Washington forgetting to say something the Revolution.

I think it will be about Cheney's speech last night and how he spent it not outlining a plan for the next 4 years, but using the speech -- and the RNC -- to solely attack Kerry/Edwards.

Well, he speach (Bush) had all the bells and whistels in it. Something for the social conservatives, something for the fiscal conservatives. Alot for the fanatics.

As I said before, I don't see alot in there that he can actually accomplish, baring a serious Republican coup in the Congress.

That didn't happen with Mr. Kerry's speech at the DNC, despite the

If Bush had some balls, he should have had one of those guys brought up on stage and give him the floor for a few minutes.

If anything, it would have been entertaining.

Entertaining, yes. Good security decision, no. It wouldn't have been that hard for one of those idiots to be packing some sort of weapon. Heck, they were able to sneak in posters, what else could they have gotten in?

Funny, no one has been saying that; only that Bush is better a mobilizing scumsucking liars and slanderers to back him.

I've seen it consistently asserted that Bush is failing with the People, hence the disparity in protesters between the DNC and RNC.

Reguardless of political bent, media affiliation, or what have you, I doubt seriously that any significant weapon made it into the hall. Plus, a quickie (frisk

) would be easy as they 'escorted' him to the stage.

Honestly, it would have been good TV, and perhaps a good bit for Bush to use later on.

On a side note, Bush seems to be getting better at speaches. Granted, he was in front of a 'very friendly' crowd, but still........
