It will speed up records searches and give you a few new methods of identification. But quite frankly you're not going to change the fact that good forensics take a very long time, tech or no. It's most certainly not going to take months long processes and render them down to a day or two at the most. And we are a shitload of time n the future. I would expect forensic science would make the same leaps and bounds as our other technologies.
I figured they would. But the fact that you apparently don't have to establish even probable cause for those records to be handed over to law enforcement is entirely inconsistent with your pontifications about your libertarian paradise. You need probable cause for a warrant. Reasonable suspicion. ANd something being imported gets a customs inspection. And the files are *gasp* saved oh holy shit. they save the files!!

A customs record? Noone in the right mind would need a warrant for that.
Compromized with "preliminary data"

One that contains an apparently large amount of specific data of a personal nature, I find I have a hard time buying that's just on request. Especially in a society that supposedly espouses privacy as highly as yours does.Alyrium Denryle wrote:A customs record? Noone in the right mind would need a warrant for that.
But whatever.

You are very wrong. You have no explanation for the other purpose-built AI's... How surprising.Beowulf wrote:E-D intelligences? As I recall, they never meant to create those. Flukes the whole lot. And for that matter, I only recall one of those, but I may be wrong.
Wrong. While kept such they were in the Holosuite of DS9, and acting on their own accord. Simply keeping a backup in the buffer takes no energy at all.. Observe Relics.A person maybe kept 'alive' in a pattern buffer, but they certainly couldn't do anything while being kept alive.
Again. You should try knowing what the fuck you're talking about before spewing bullshit to support one of your autofellating antics. Sort of like the 'I have just entered the STGOD but have a strategic missile for every world you have, medium missiles for every ship you have, and exist in another dimension so you can't hit me but I can wipe out anyone I want! Ha!' crap you've pulled before.
You should consider that when the first DS is destroyed, massive effects are noted in the novelization from it's exotic core. Besides, the mass is complex.. Oh, wait, you don't know what that means, you just spout drivel to try and shore up your twinking. The power requirements for a Death Star would require that they annihilate a mass on the order of that of Luna. And the DS can do multiple shots. This is enough mass to cause noticable tidal effects, which simply isn't present for Endor. I'll point you towards Wong's page on SW power generation.
Yes, it is. If you use fusion. My ships tend to use antimatter. We go boom in style. Now, current state of the art puts the largest ships at about 15 GT of firepower per energy volley. This is about 200 tons of Deuterium, every two seconds. For reference, see Aly's OOB. That's a shit load of mass to use.

So Robert Frost was right. The Universe does end in fire...
UNLEASH HELL!
UNLEASH HELL!
For those who were wondering here's the part of the poem I was talking about.Robert Frost wrote:SOME say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire

OK, since there are going to be a lot of fleet movements now (considering the circumstances), it is time to establish:
HOW LONG IT TAKES TO GET SOMEWHERE FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE
I believe what we agreed on from the beginning is that it takes 4 or 5 days to get from one side of thecircle on the map to the other. Plan accordingly. For example, my ships jumping from Draconis space (Tortuga) to CoG space (Edean) will take about 2 days. So keep that in mind when ordering fleets about.

It's been asserted that it takes an Ouster capital ship 3 days to get from Hudson to Edean via Jormungandr, and that's about half the diameter of Known Space. Non-Kincaid capitals would take about 2 days, 25 hours. Cruisers move considerably faster, with Ouster ships making the tranist in 18 hours better time.

I ain't making this up, kids. Read the White Sun's OOB. Their recent (and pretty meaningless) dipomacy aside, their history is a tale of murdered humans and starships shot down just for trespassing. Compared to the the White Suns, the Hajr is downright moral. Just the sort of people who would commit such an atrocity...
