Do you also realize that there's no way the station could have vented a sufficient amount of atmosphere to make it happen, unless the Ousters are total idiots who don't use airtight doors? (If so, their navy's going to have a bad time from here on out.)
Have you considered how the bomb entered the station? According to Thirdfain, it was disguised in a cargo container and was being put through customs. That means it hadn't recieved but a minor scanning up to that point. How big of a container are we talking? It could very well be big enough to fit the size of bomb you think it would demand.
I'm going to go to class now. I fully expect to be flamed into oblivion by the time I get back, although I'm right.
The post stands as is.

And the Ousters didn't kill the Veithan ambassador on Kalderi. Unfortunately, nobody else knows either things at the moment. ;)

I could very much say the same about the retconning of the Tortugan pirates to not be pirates, and the imposed massiveness of the Ix'ador revolt, if we want to go there. I'm following everyone else's lead here. The "It can't work that way, so we get to twist the situation to our advantage no matter what you actually posted!" trick has been done by nearly everyone else. Why not me?

The situation is different. The Tortugans are pirates, the massiveness of the Ix'agal revolt was a fucking inevitiability, and the Mod has shot you down this time due to extreme sillyness.

Fuck you.

We aren't playing with hard physics, here. If we were, well, then none of us have FTL travel or communications, no ship can accelerate faster than 2-3 G without crushing the crew, all long-term ships require bulky life support systems plus rotating rings to generate gravity, and so on. Duh.

It should be blindingly obvious to everyone who's been playing that we're using Sci-Fi physics. We have to break and bend rules for the game to work. OTOH, we can still apply real-life economic and political sciences, because there is no reason to change those for suspension of disbelief.

Funny, last I checked the tortugan fleet was still a pirate fleet, but it was determined that the fleet engaging in pirate actions does not justify a full scale planetary assault as Alyrium was running it. The whole ordeal was poorly planned by Aly in the first place.
and the imposed massiveness of the Ix'ador revolt, if we want to go there.
Oh get off it. The Ix'agal revolts were a fully justified response, and the only one that made a damn bit of sense after Aly's bullshit "I charm them all to accept and love me" landing with the Arcanists, which should have been smacked down anyway.

Oh, so let's see. You're comparing a move which is entirely plausable to two distinct moves made by Alyrium which are so incredibly pie in the sky they should have never left the planning room.

Do you not see the differences, or is it that you are just so blinded by what you want to see that you don't care?

Rogue, you are a decent in-game poster, and by all evidence, a good fleet commander. If you'd just quit trying to pull bullshit in the OOC thread, the game would go faster, and you'd be seen in a LOT better light by some other posters.

I want this game to go on. NO cop-outs, quitting, or stupid crap. No superweapons, just politics, espionage, and war.

It's understandable- the UPA doesn't want to lose a member, and whether the White Suns did it or not, they can't afford to lose their base in the Galactic North and let an ally out to dry. Cool beans. That's all the cassus belli you need.

Yes, thank you, the Ix'agal revolts were so big for two reasons--

1--The mages pissed the entire population off.
2--The nature of the events that precipitated the occupation (Tycho's unconditional abandonment of the CoG) created the conditions not only for revolts of the size experienced, but even still larger revolts. His entire military was unemployed, within easy access of weaponry, and extremely pissed at the occupation authority. That's millions of trained personnel ready to fight, just to start with, and then they got funding and support from foreign intelligence services.

So go on and cry me a river.
I'm going to be offline for a few hours, thenk you.

Yes, here is how it should go:

Thirdfain-- "GRAR! Me ogre, me think White Suns attack me. I attack White Suns!"
Rogue 9-- "Um... I don't believe you... ?"
Thirdfain-- "I attacks anyway!"
Rogue 9-- "This means war."

Just to make it clear, the White Suns are filling Sixtra space habitats with as many people as they can in a secret location. They are doing this in extreme secret so it will be nigh impossible to find them without a dedicated search of the full cluster or following the evacuation ships. They have also pulled a unfinished Constellation hull out of the dry dock. It can power Transpace portals and as soon as the Ouster show up in the Cluster they are leaving to an undisclosed location somewhere pretty far away.

Yes. The run away thing is just a back-up plan as there is no way in hell they can fit the tens of billions of Confederates into space colonies designed to house five billions max. The warships will be there if the Ousters arrive.

The Black Ships destroyed the great Jardanian empire in a single engagement using only a third of their forces, or don't you remember? It's all about the bad boy rep. 8)

Not much, I'll admit- but it was still some pretty cool Fleet jujitsu... Taking out that Superdreadnought. Hmmph. I suspect I'll have many more opportunites.

Rogue, all you can determine is that someone decided he wanted that station exactly where (or sufficiently near) it impacted.
I think it is within the limit of a reasonable determined enemy to make sure that the bomb will do this.
But you cannot just assume it was Thirdfain himself. BEcause there is just no evidence glaring at you for it.
But we all have found out how far you will go just to win an argument, haven't we?
