Well when I'm right, yes. And you know what? I am. I spent a semester doing a long-term lab project on orbital mechanics a couple years back and I say that this could not be done because of the nature of a geosynchronous orbit, which dictates that the station would have had to be over 22,000 miles above ground level and fall at over 100,000 miles per hour in order to hit anywhere near the city much less in the same hemisphere, but the mod has ruled on it. So be it.

Several problems arise with your analysis:

1. You do not have a timeframe to work from. This murders the speed requirements you've given. For all you know, the station completed a revolution during the course of the decay
2. You are not factoring in the chaos of the situation, of rescue crews trying to save people on the station instead of restoring orbit, of the debris from the explosion making actually getting to the station to help very difficult. Of not knowing where the station would crash, so as to evacuate the crash site.
3. I still don't see where in Thirdfain's post that he specifically said that the station hit the city it was orbiting over. It's a freaking planet, and one which can be reasonably assumed has several major cities.

I wonder...where was this vigor and furor when Alyrium tried to tell everyone that his Arcane Warships could not coast when contained in a Prismatic Sphere?

Yeah, first you'll have to retrieve that fleet that jumped out a hell of a long time ago. :P

I's certainly possible your agents survived, Darksider. If nothing else, your Floaters doing business with ym civilian clusters would be OK, and any agents with them would be able to contact you.

I was talking about the insurgent team itself (The ones who bombed the troop transport.)

How bad was the damage to hudson's surface? (I know asteroids raining down on the planet can't be a good thing, but was it a total loss, half-way Etc.)

What is the approximate state of your military forces on the surface, Are they on high alert? (The intel team wouldn't try to get off-planet, or even contact KESS command if there were some kind of planet-wide crackdown.)

Planetwide crackdown, of course. The defenses, what's left, are operational, but it's chaotic as hell. They should be able to get to one of the freighters or something.

A band extending for hundreds of miles from the target city has been devastated, but the planet isn't unliveable. There are surviving human cities, and, noteably, the Hajr military bases out in the wilds far from the cities are OK. The intact military bases are tighter than... welll, really tight.

Assume they're still alive, but are just biding there time and playing the part of good little civillians........who happen to be paying extra special attention to the way your military is handeling the crisis.

For the record, the 1st War Cluster just appeared over Eketrina, and it's Fleet Tender is handling rescue operations. The other 3 War Clusters are in Parts Unknown.

Hold up here. That's one hell of a force to just materialize out of your corporations there, Bystander.

And with that, I'm going home for Labor Day weekend. Damn, this was bad timing. I'll be posting only in the late afternoons for the next four days.

Yeah, Bystander, that's like Ouster-level fleet construction.

You know, is it just me, or is going 'Uh.. Something horrible happened to someone.. They're about to start a war.. I think I'll go to high alert, even if it's not with me.' is ridiculously guilty-acting in this sort of event? You'd think Nashtar was afraid of, oh, justice...

Not me! I sent a form letter a full week after the tragedy and my fleets will shortly be returning from exercise and de-mobilizing. A clear conscience, has I.

Think so? No problem, though I'll point it this has been over the course of, 8-10 months, rather than the Ouster's 6.

Okay I'm pretty serious about participating, so I've got a couple of questions.

How fast do ships build? I declared a ship building effort and few days ago and a military personal increase before that. Is 4 Thor class (a heavy capital ship) and 8 escort (and marines to go with) carriers, and the mobilization of 400,000 army/police acceptable?

I'm an alliance member, what obligations do I have? I haven't been active, so I'm not sure where alliance forces are committed or where its headed in general.

What kind of situations are going on that I can lend my support behind, and or attempt to stop?

Yeah, but they didn't scramble their navies and take up positions to defend against their shores against the USN.

Well, given the shitstorm that is about to rise (we're talking about a major war here...), it is only reasonable to prepare for it and its possible repercussions...

To be fair, the only fleets I have on alert are Alpha and Delta, both of which are in Ark Sector, which has a substantial civilian population which is constantly growing.

Six game months for large capital vessels (BB, DN)
Three game months for small capital vessels (CA, DD)
[if, for example, you're only building a single DN and you have shipbuilding to simultaneously construct ten, then you can be assumed to be devoting extra resources to that vessel and would be justified in shooting it out in a smidgen less time]

And you can mobilize 400,000 men pretty much at will. That isn't very many soldiers.
