Who would you choose as the Democratic candidate?

Post by Grand Admiral Thrawn »

Alright, some months ago during the Democratic primaries, everyone had declared John Kerry was the most electable, best to beat Bush, etc. Now his campaign is being eaten, spit out and eaten again.

So in hindsight, which candidate would you choose to be nominated? Howard Dean? John Edwards? Wesley Clark? Al Sharpton? Gephart? Or one of the other losers I can't bother remembering or googling?

Bill Clinton. He'd be flossing with Bush's intenstinal track right about now if he was running.

Kerry. But I would give him a better campaign manager.

Edwards would probably be the best, out of those.

I'd say Dean before his campaign went downhill for President, and some random libertarian politician for vice president.

FDR, even if he is dead.

Barring that, Dean, just on the small hope that he might get a little overstimulated at one of the debates and beat the shit outta Bush. And yes, I know thats unfair to the man, but, you know, Fuck you, bitch.

Dean. Particularly if we can arrange an accident with Gamma rays so he turns huge and green when he yells.

Realistically I would pick Edwards or Dean.

Edwards has the advantage of being very charismatic and a good speaker. The personal charisma would have given him to ability to charge harder on the issues and during debates without coming off as a "smug liberal" or attack politician.

Dean was just a great Dark Horse outsider type who would definitely score points by not being a greasy politico, but I think he might have had difficulty snaring the center; also the media was definitely out for his blood which would have made things difficult.

Unrealistically?

IIRC isn't the guy running the Kerry campaign now the same guy from the Dukakis campaign?

FDR and Teddy Roosevelt, for the Stone Dead progressive party. Because they still could beat the Conservatives the fuck up. Really, I would like Edwards, for president, Kerry will do fine though. And I have this sniggling wish that Al Sharpton had more than a snowballs chance, because he's one of the most eloquent dems out there.

Fine fine fine. If I were actually picking a candidate I'd have to go with dean. He has the charisma an firm stands on various issuses that kerry is so sorely lacking. Plus he knows how to raise his voice . But in all seriousness dean would be much better than kerry.
