Sorry, but I've just been getting too many accusations of rampant metagaming with regards to the Ousters lately. And Nitram, I take it that you mean that I know that your agents are onworld when you go on about how scanners couldn't miss your power packs. You do realize that the minute you start attacking Alliance targets that I'm going to intern them, right? I seriously considered posting that I'd arrest them anyway, but decided against, but that will change if you force a state of war. (By the by, how were they using a telescope to observe the movements of Second Fleet in the Oro system if they're on Pinnacle? )

And the telescopes were observing the Fifth Fleet, which I assume is taking on additional supplies for an excursion, recalling shore leave, etc. All those things a fleet does before departure.

The thing is, the Lying Darkness would probably just take over anyone who was so foolish as to try to do such a thing as contact them. Though if they did it, they probably would frame someone, it wouldn't be the White Sun, mostly because there are other, slightly more plausible people to frame, than a bunch of xenophobes. Which because they are a bunch of xenophobes, begs the question as to why they are in the UPA, but that's another story entirely.Murazor wrote:I have a little idea about a post to end this once and for all. The Confederation will eventually learn this, but as the shit has already hit the fan and giving the Hajr the guilty would mean among other things disclosing the location of Haven Point they aren't going to say anything. What do you think about this?
P.S. This would also mean that the Vampires are a bunch of liars, but I don't think that this will shock anybody.

Ah. You quoted the orders of a part of Second Fleet to move from Orodan to Pinnacle to cover the planet, which confused me for a second. They're in the UPA because they're next door to Hudson and were terrified of being next on the Ouster hit list. Didn't you read his contact posts? He had the Ethereal first officer of the diplomatic destroyer he sent to me shout down the Sixtra bridge crew to get them to behave; they wanted to attack or at least refuse any contact with humans.Beowulf wrote:The thing is, the Lying Darkness would probably just take over anyone who was so foolish as to try to do such a thing as contact them. Yes, yes, I know. The antimatter charg... I mean, fuel cells. Well if that's what we're detecting, do you honestly think I'm going to be stupid enough to put them where they can do critical damage with the things?SirNitram wrote:More trying to quote the bit about the Fifth Fleet, so it has a context.Rogue 9 wrote:Ah. I think the question is whether you'll be able to take them quietly. They're warriors, my dear boy. Surrendering isn't terribly honorable.Rogue 9 wrote:Yes, yes, I know. The antimatter charg... You forget. Pinnacle is the base of the Republican Marines. So guess who'll be coming for them. If they want a fight, they'd only be in deeper shit if they'd landed on Korrigal.SirNitram wrote:I think the question is whether you'll be able to take them quietly. They're warriors, my dear boy. To be honest, his contact posts were a while ago, and I failed to pay much attention to them then. Of course, there's a difference between a single system polity, and a major power. The single system polity can't possibly have enough ships to deter an attack, while a major power has enough that it really isn't feasible to attack without major losses, if you don't have allies.Rogue 9 wrote:They're in the UPA because they're next door to Hudson and were terrified of being next on the Ouster hit list. What I don't get is why they're so eager to help you, but hey, whatever they wanna do. Next time Earth is getting assraped, remind me not to charge to the rescue.

Okay, at this point, I think I'll have to add another level of detail to the map, just to keep things clear.
The Supply lines on the map are there for clarity. They are not really designed to show that anyone is passing through anyone else's space to get from point A to point B. They may go PAST said space, but especially in the middle of the map, there is a lot of play.

Closing borders isn't exactly help. It more along the lines of: We don't want to be seen as helping the UPA in this.Rogue 9 wrote:What I don't get is why they're so eager to help you, but hey, whatever they wanna do. Next time Earth is getting assraped, remind me not to charge to the rescue.

There's some space to wiggle in, but it'll make fleet trains that much more difficult.Hotfoot wrote:Okay, at this point, I think I'll have to add another level of detail to the map, just to keep things clear.

Over 9,000 light years of space, by my estimation. I'll be throwing together some dice and making random elevation values for everyone (save monacora, since they are the center of known space). After that, I think it would be safe to say that most spheres of influence extend out X far from the capital world, and we go from there.Stormbringer wrote:There's some space to wiggle in, but it'll make fleet trains that much more difficult.

What are you talking about? This is easily solved. *Takes the largeness of Earth to mean that it is far closer to the view of the map, thus making it higher on the galactic arm than either Nashtar or the White Sun territory, and sends fleets beneath Monacoran territory, adding nothing to the journey at all.* There's no indication of depth, so as long as it's consistent I can do whatever the hell I want with the verticle positioning.Stormbringer wrote:There's some space to wiggle in, but it'll make fleet trains that much more difficult.Hotfoot wrote:Okay, at this point, I think I'll have to add another level of detail to the map, just to keep things clear.

Cool, but there are some facts we've established- the Asgard are close to Jormungandr, which is close to Hudson (hours of transit fromone to the other) You'd need to work some of that out, otherwise, cool.Over 9,000 light years of space, by my estimation.
