Descent 2 Revival

Post by Vertigo1 »

For those of you that still have a copy of the game, theres a revival going on, on kali. Time to dust off your joysticks and come join the old-school fun. :)

You'll see me playing as "MD-2389".

For those of you using 2k/XP, download this build of D2x. Be sure to read the readme to get the updated DLL files. (You can even play your old Descent 1 missions with D2x. :))

Mac users: click here

homepage for D2x. (even a version for Linux users!)

W00tah, I've always loved Olde Skoole DOS games too. Is there a Win32 port to D2 by any chance?

Wish I had my joystick, and damn, why can't they have an XWA revival? *Grumps*
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Thats the thing, Descent didn't actually require a joystick. It has support for them, but they aren't required. You can use keyboard or mouse to fly as well.

Oh yeah. I knew that. It's just that I always played with a joystick because it's so much better that way...

Awesome! I still keep my D2 CD around to listen to while driving... and Descent 3 was a bit of a disappointment.

Doesn't get any better than Descent 2, in my opinion.

I remember that old code "guile", it was hilarious when using it in the first stage as you were leaving, the ship would go invis in the cinematic...
