It looks kinda interesting, plus it bridges the gap between the KDY Jedi starfighter and the Empire's TIE fighters. Unfortunately, it keeps reminding me of the Acolyte fighters from Homeworld: Cataclysm.

Scrap the B wing cockpit, and it looks like a mix of the Tie and a droid fighter. The big old cockpit on top makes it look like a cut and paste job.Techno_Union wrote:It doesn't look that bad... though it begs the question, "Where the F%@# is the rest of the fighter?!?!"
There's a head-on view of Obi-Wan's fighter, and again it shows that, just like with Obi-Wan's previous Aethersprite, the R4 droid head can't possibly have a body that can fit- however, I an extreme closeup of R2-D2 in his socket on Anakin's version shows it to be different- Anakin's fighter may be customized to have a more shallow well, as R2s body and arms are visible on the dorsal side, unlike Obi-Wan's.How can R2 possibly fit in that thing?
Personally, I like it.
Unlikely, the closeup of Anakin's fighter is a real prop used for filming in-cockpit shots for the pilots, the fighter looks like it does in those CG images. It's got huge laser cannons which I like very much.Knife wrote:![]()
I guess every ones entitled to their strokes.
I don't think I'd mind it if it weren't for the cockpit. The body and its MF-ish mandibles is ok imo, so is the Tie like winglets. I just don't like the cockpit placement. It makes it look like a cut and paste uber job.
I hope it goes through refinment in post production.
In the cut outs of the manibles? Or in the wings like Ties? Hard to tell with the pic I'm working with.Vympel wrote:

And with that in mind I have to wonder what is wrong with the Aethersprite. I mean, do we get to see it in Ep3 at all?VT-16 wrote:Nah, more like a T-47 speeder, a YT-1300 freighter, and a TIE fighter knocked-up an Aethersprite.Kinda looks like the result of a night on the town between an A-Wing and a TIE-interceptor![]()
Well, the TIE series certainly weren't massive; just look at it that way. If the ARC 170 concept art bears any similarity to the actual "Clonefighter" we're going to see, that's certainly going to be sizeable.Connor MacLeod wrote:Wheee.. another micro-fighter that has no bearing to the massive ships we saw in the OT! How the hell do they expect SW fighters to pack all that hardware into a tiny frame, again?
Yeah, but the TIE series wasn't packing hyperdrives, shields, and missile launchers. They were basically engines with guns.Vympel wrote:Well, the TIE series certainly weren't massive; just look at it that way.
