Star Wars vs Star Trek: Land of the Giant style.
Okay, Land of the giants was a tv show about human astronaughts or somthing crash landing on a land populated by giants. The humans were like
1/30th the height of the giants.
So the imperials attack and find out that the Trek humanoids are 30 times there size. The imperial goals are the normal take over every thing in the Trek galaxy, can They due it with this massive size difference.
Also some time during the war 30 klingons warriors charge a battalion of Storm Troopers who wins?

Well, the fact that they're smaller will affect their body- they'll likely be unable to stand up in normal gravity.
So if they fight on a planet, Klingons win, since Stormtroopers can't stand up.
If they fight on a ship with lower gravity, Stormtroopers wins because the Klingons run with their batleths and fly in the air right past them while the Stormies shoot them

Yeah, that's kind of the idea of a BDZ operation.Techno_Union wrote:Heck, BDZ still works... though don't expect to still use the planet afterwards.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

lol Well I guess ATATs will be the main thing to use when invading... though just don't get out of them. But even the ATAT will not be so good.Praxis wrote: You might be charged for murder when you accidentally step on a stormtrooper...

Even at 1/30th the size (And presumably, power), the Death Star would still be more than capable of destroying planets, and I'm guessing that Stormtrooper blaster rifles could still kill unarmored humans, and they'd probably be helped by people laughing at the sheer silliness of 2 1/2-inch Stormtroopers running around, although it does raise a question: Do the Stormtroopers still have the voice in the SW movies, or do they have high-pitched voices like every other character that's significantly smaller than everyone else?

At 30 times the size, they'd have a lot less muscular strength to stand against gravity.Jon wrote:Maybe a lack of sleep this weekend is affecting my tiny mind, but care to extrapolate on your reasoning?they'll likely be unable to stand up in normal gravity
I can't recall how it was explained (perhaps someone like Wong or any physicists here can help?), but I remember reading how things cannot simply be scaled up or scaled down, as different forces would then be applied to that object.
PS, I just imagined a hurricane blowing about tiny little stormtroopers about while they scream in high pitched little voices, "Heeeelp meeee! Heeelp mee!!!"
So according to the original post, teh Stormies would be 1/30th their original size?
Given that G acts on mass, therefore creating weight, (and with mass 30 time smaller, their weight would be proportional to their new size) how would their size hinder their ability to stand? Indeed, maybe someone with better understanding of this could intervene

And they'd also weight proportionately less.Praxis wrote:At 30 times the size, they'd have a lot less muscular strength to stand against gravity.

As insects can, the Stormtroopers would likely be able to jump many times their height and so forth. They could probably be tossed around like rag dolls and be fine, since their inertia would drop off far faster than the strength of their bones and other body structures.Jon wrote:So according to the original post, teh Stormies would be 1/30th their original size?

It's the opposite. You can't scale UP very well. Down is just fine.Praxis wrote:Well, the fact that they're smaller will affect their body- they'll likely be unable to stand up in normal gravity.

Hmm...
Stormtroopers approach a bunch of blue-collar workers who've been off on a good ol' fashioned drunk.
"Halt! In the name of the Emperor, you are remanded to Imperial custody. Come along peacefully and there'll be no trouble..."
Drunks laugh, unzip pants, and let fly. The stormies are swept away by a flood of piss. They go back into the pub to have another draw and laugh over these new insects that've shown up all over the place...

It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

Re: Star Wars vs Star Trek: Land of the Giant style.
Let's expand the ST humanoids rather than shrink the SW ones.
The Klingons wouldn't be doing much charging. They are too heavy in comparison to their load-bearing areas.
The OP says nothing about expanding the ships or anything. So, ST won't have ships, because their 60m tall humanoids are too big for the ones they would have and if they expand the ship, structural loads would say they either fail or be severely limited in acceleration.
So, I don't see how this buys them too much.

You are forgetting that the Klingon Bird of Prey can be scaled up to infinity, as it often was in TNG. For goodness sake, they turned that 120 meter long vessel into a 700+ meter long monstrosity!Kazuaki Shimazaki wrote:Let's expand the ST humanoids rather than shrink the SW ones.

All the time in TNG. Here is an informative site about it.Kazuaki Shimazaki wrote:When did that happen?Bob the Gunslinger wrote:Let's expand the ST humanoids rather than shrinkYou are forgetting that the Klingon Bird of Prey can be scaled up to infinity, as it often was in TNG. BTW, when is this thread going to get raunchy-dirty-nasty? This is SD.net and we're talking about a finger sized Vader doin' some 'vading and his small soldiers, and no one has mentioned anything sex-related (unless you're into golden showers)?
