Alyrium, BTW, you use one model of fighter as interceptor, fighter, bomber, and ground attack craft. It won't be nearly as good at any of those roles as a purpose-built starfighter which doesn't need to be aerodynamic.

He was hiding behind a moon so you couldn't see him. If he was positioned so that you can't see him, it follows that he can't see you either.

He was lying in wait, presumably with 1 or 2 drones dangling out around the edge of the moon to watch for the decidedly unstealthy thing that is a battlefleet coming out of hyperspace.

Aly, I wasnt targeting your destroyers. That should be pretty obvious. And if you want to interpose, I tell you what you told me about my fighters.... my Lances are going to go right through your destroyers and hit their targets.

Also, I am posting some decent casualties on my side. Considering that in this particular lineup, my full fleet against HALF your fleet, Im outnumbering you two-to-one. So get those damage numbers up.

Though, look in your own OOB.

How deep do those things burrow before exploding? Because each of my destroyers is a couple hundred meters long, and proportionally as large. Your own OOB states that they trget destroyers, and if memory serves, you DID hit a few arcane destroeyrs with the things, and they didnt go straight through.

They arent beam weapons, and I doubt the fuses on the warheads are that intelligent.

If you want, we can take this to maths. How large is the shell itself?

I must ask for the same thing here. I'm pushing through your battle fore, which is accelerating towards me, with heavy lasers blasting at you. Yet your saying that you've only lost a couple of cruisers and destroyers. That's not right.

And your Dreadnoughts as of your last post,are at 91% shield strength and you have posted Zero casualties, despite the fact I have been concentrating fire on your capital ships.

It's a big ol warhead, about 100 kg, I guess. My thought of how that would work is it would plow right through the escort if the escort got in the way and then hit the target behind, losing a lot of momentum in the first transition. So interposing would work better for Lance than it would on a beam weapon, but still do damage to the target behind. Least thats how I figure.

Actually, that was Straha's last post. Im at about 50 percent as of my last post, and dwindling. But as we all know, it takes a long time to tkae down a DNs shields, and they are being screened by Wall-cruisers.

Hold on, let me calculate how you would be able to have a ship take a shot meant for another when the projectile is moving at a significant fraction of C.

Can we PLEASE drop "taking the hit" ships, for the love of Pete?

Because we'd been engaged in battle for a max of probably five minutes, while I was recieving less then half of your fire-power because you were focused on the Krell. In fact, I think, losing ten percent of my shielding when being engaged by half-hearted opponents is generous. And considering now how I actually have the attention of half of your fleet I will be taking heavier hits. The fact remains, however, that despite you being hit from two sides by a superior force you've taken shit for casulties. I object.

You were taking half the firepower, so were they,and both halves of that firepower were concentrated on heavy capitalships.

Now post casualties before I ask Pablo to do so for you.

Ok, so its a billion kgs. I dont really care about the physics behind it. It's in my OOB and it works, I think that's how we've played every issue of this kind.

Not when it is that small. My destroyers are also somewhat largish(my fast destreyrs are 200 meters long for example)

Those shots will not go straight through.

Alyrium, how many capships have you lost? Because due to the n^2 law, it'll be a LOT more than the Monacoran/Krell have.

gentlemen:

we are using a "if declared in an OOB and accepted by peer review it works" system. As such, at this point Bugsby could claim that Lances fired super-compressed thrash to the point where he is firing a little black hole, or a super-duper chicken gun. As long as the effect was the same, it hardly matters. Lance weapons are respected as the most badass weapons in the game because Bugsby has taken so many penalties to their usage.

Shields on vessels have just started to fail. SO only a few. However, they havent been concentrating fire either. Mine have. ANd I am losing cruisers so far as well.

(And damn it, Krell DREADNOUGHTS are more powerful as per his post. Not his entire fleet, save for that, I outnumber them numerically)

But there is no precedent for them going through a target, and hitting another. It has never been done. They ay burrow into a hull, nd then explode, but never ever ever have they passed through another shielded ship, to strike a target behind.
