O'Reilly: "It's like two different worlds, sir"

Watching him right now and he is in rare form tonight. He called Bush Sr, Lauara Bush and Junior patriots and bemoaned the fact that ugly lies were being aired by the media without being substantiated first that might hurt them. (Talking about the Kitty Kelly book) When the guy he was talking to mentioned the Swiftboat ads as a similar thing as the KK book O'Reilly waved his hands furiously as he talked about "But those ads were investigated intensely. I don't want these accusations to get out there." So, Bill, you mean to tell me that its Ok for the Swift boat accusations to "get out there." but not these accusations about the Bushes because they're patriots.

Then he interviews a Congressional Black caucus member about R. Kelly speaking at a meeting. "Don't you think its a bad idea to be associated with an accused child pornoprgapher?"

The guy at one point retorts: "What about associating with a drug user and dealer like Rush Limbaugh?"

After alot of eyerolling he finally cuts the guy off and states that "It's like two different worlds sir. As if child pornography and what Mr. Limbaugh is accused of is even on the same plain." EXCUSE ME. Drug dealers and users have been consistently painted as the scum of the earth by the right and suddenly, child porn is like the ultimate evil that pales in comparison to Rush's charges. Not even on the same plain of evil according to O'Reilly.

He has been in rare self righteous mode today and really just pissed me off. I fervently wish that someone lays a verbal smackdown on him sometime soon.

I seem to recall O'Reilly saying on the Conan O'Brien show that he supports more liberal drug laws...

I think on one of C-Span's panels, they decided to bring in Al Franken and O'Reilly as guests to talk about current issues. Franken absolutely shredded O'Reilly, and after a spell it looked like poor Bill was going to stand up and hit Franken with his chair. If you can find video of it somewhere, it's worth your while.
