Where in your OOB did you specify that your ships were sensor stealthed, Darksider? I'm not seeing it.

ANY ship can be "sensor stealthed" if it kills power and sits quietly, shields off, passive sensors only. It's 'running silent.' Any ship in the game can do it.

Oh Rogue, just so you are aware my ships are now set for a hair trigger jump out of the system. And they've methodically stayed outside the hyper limit..

Added a preliminary intro to the new ships. More will comes as they're actually built. Right now thought they'll be taking nine months standard (6 months rushed) so they'll be a fair bit tougher than the Wulfen-class.

And I hope Dahak will pardon me for any Babelfish induced abuse of the German language.

Heya Everyone:

I have been informed that Hotfoot has been having problems with his wireless internet setup. The router is down, so he is unable to gain access to the internet at the moment. He sends his apologies and that he will be trying to get back online as soon as possible.

I didn't complain about your post, I just clarified about your observations.
I'm merely saying that to sensors that can't see into hyperspace, a vessel under Kincaid isn't particularly easy to detect at long ranges.
Let's see if I can bring something from Rationalization 101.

Confederation sensors can "see" hyperspace, but without previous knowledge of what they are looking for they just discard unknown forms of FTL travel as natural phenomena. The Confederation knows how to detect the forms of FTL travel of its inmediate neighbours (Minmatar, Jormangundr, CoG and perhaps the Veithans), but they don't have a clue about the others. One of the things that scared them shitless about the Ousters was the fact that they couldn't even detect your FTL drive or something.

The probes in the Edean march (in my first posts) had the mission of learning to detect Kincaid drives and when this failed and they joined the Alliance, they got from the UP or Nashtar the info they needed about Kincaid drives.

This matches with the fact that the diplomatic frigate I sent to Nashtar dared to scan the return of a Nashtari fleet in order to learn about hyperspace (this is in one of my first posts also). As a result, I know how to detect some hyperspace forms (yours among others), but not all of them and if somebody using one of the unknown ones decides to attack me, he/she will be able to appear in my front door without being detected.

In a similar fashion, transpace can be detected by modified hyperspace sensors (this is mentioned in my OOB) and if I don't use it cautiously, its nature of "FTL method currently undetectable by Known Space sensors" will be just a "one use" kind of thing.

Is this agreeable?

Thirdfain wrote:And need I add that since your vessels mount two different shielding systems as well as two different types of hyperdrive, they will have less room for weaponry and combat electronics, not to mention internal bracing. Your vessels will go up quickly once their shields fail. I think that losing 1 DN outright and having 2 carriers wounded would be fair at this point.
I have a reply post about capship status after your combined attack (the cruisers and that). 1 dreadnought down and the other disabled (won't do shit in the battle or the war the way I describe it). 1 carrier down and the other almost without shields and retreating. Is this agreeable?

In other news, because of some reason, this fucking computer doesn't allow me to copy & paste the text file. I will attempt to post it again over the next hours.

Thirdfain... The Reed Queen was already disabled (or at least pretty badly damaged) and I was focusing my torpedoes in one of your undamaged carriers.

Perfect.

Then she'll be damaged by not killed. You don't have the numbers advantage to score a single-volley kill on a clean carrier, especially not when you've just nailed a 1.5 capship-wroth Cataphract. This is a good deal. Take it.

Okay, been reviewing OOBs. Tycho, all you have is a fleet roster. Nothing else; nothing about your army, nothing about your government, nothing about your holdings, nothing about your defenses, nothing about anything besides fleet count.

Revision to above: It's easy to miss your other stuff next to that massive fleet roster of yours, but it is there. My apologies.

Rogue, play it straight. Your enemy has an hour's forewarning that you are coming and a half-hour's warning that you are heading for Manticore herself.

BTW:

Current Times Elapsed for campaigns:

White Suns (Ousters): 2 hours
Draconis (Krell/Monacora): complete, let's say 1 day
United Protectorates (Krytos/Manticore): 1 day
Nashtar (Asgard, others): 1 or less (Stormbringer's call)

Since the attack on Manticore was launched at about the time hostilities began (a little later) and the Shi Combine is about 1.5-2 days from Manticore, I think that all the assorted Unification 2cnd Wave fleets (with a few exceptions) will be in position at least 10 hours before your attack on Manticore sets off the sensors.

Well, in fairness, Manticore's all he's got, so there's not many other places I could be going. Also, I didn't know anyone was anywhere near my territory until Stormbringer posted his arrival; I retconned in all my preparation.

How does that follow? Sure, the Shi Combine is about a day and a half away, but they got started soon after the opening moves of the war; that battle group was originally tasked for the Krell after the attack on the withdrawing forces at Ix'agal, and was diverted after the Unification declared war, so they've been moving for a while. Besides, are you saying that you can get two attacks in on the Alliance in the time it takes the Alliance to get in one back? That doesn't make sense.
