Ralph Nader (news - web sites) can stay on Florida's ballot, at least until the end of the week when the state Supreme Court will make a final decision on his attempt to run for president as the Reform Party nominee.
Wait, Nader is running for the Reform Party now? I thought he was an independent. Isn't that a shift to the other end of the political spectrum?
Maybe it'll be Bush that he "steals" votes from this time.
Last time around, he ran under the Green Party, which is a party that seems capable of drawing a lot of grungy college students and little else (though the Greens actually succeed in getting the occasional candidate elected to local and state offices.) Don't quite understand why he's changed to the Reform Party. He's still just to the left of Karl Marx, and the last nutcase to run for President under the Reform Party ticket (Pat Buchannan) was somewhere even further to the right than Bush.
Then again, I think Ralph Nader knows he's no Ross Perot, and Ross Perot was the most successful third party candidate of the last hundred years after Teddy Roosevelt made his run on his Bull Moose Party, and he still lost.

I'm voting for a third party, too, but Nader's a complete dumbass. I think he should be on the ballot, since I haven't seen anything to indicate that putting his name on it would be illegal, but Nader's such a dumbass that I can't imagine voting for him.

amazing. Only in America could a nutjob loony green (Nader) and a rightwing moralist theocrat (Pat Buchannon) run for President in consecutive years with the endoresement of the same party.
