no. you need the make the entire picture brighter. esspecially the dark and middle parts.

open photoshop
load pic
hit ctrl-M
click in middle of gradient curve to insert point
drag point up (in some PS version down) to make the the middle parts brighter
insert point on cuve in lower (in some PS versions upper) part.
drag point to make dark parts lighter.
play around till you get good results.
