Yes, it's a very fucked up place. And it's only going to get worse before it gets better. As for hiding, maybe, but it's too late for them to go back. And if anything you've come at a time of nasty warfare. Probably the biggest since the Floater War which ended the prior STGOD in this particular universe.Agent Fisher wrote:man, this universe is fucked up.....maybe my people should have just stayed in our humble home systems

This is war. The enemy population is a target, especially when their army tries to use them as human shields. I was commenting on the fact that one could effectively depopulate Earth in a matter of minutes, once the planetary shield was down. Is anyone going to do that? Probably not. But if it comes to that point...InnocentBystander wrote:There are 2 extremes. did you only look in the circle on the map?Straha wrote:Except we'd start looking, and we probably already know where your worlds generally are, but not which ones they are exactly, considering the extensive searching we did for the Overseer.Agent Fisher wrote:Stormbringer wrote: Yes, it's a very fucked up place. True, but where would the fun in that be?Agent Fisher wrote:they could suddenly selfdestruct and no one would ever find out about my worlds.
Trust me, it's very rewarding to survive such conflicts and come out on top. I've played several STGODs by now and it's a hell of a lot of fun. If nothing else the intellectual reward is a lot. There's nothing like seeing an enemy broken before you or that of throwing an enemie's plan into total disarray with a few well places jabs.
In short: good STGODing is like crack. Once you've started it's a rush and you just can't quit.
You need to read up on the Rape, possibly the single most game changing event. We searched EVERYWHERE in a massive vicinity, not just the 'Inner Sphere,'Agent Fisher wrote: did you only look in the circle on the map?

Seriously though, if you want to be a serious active participant you should probably read through as much of the STGOD proper as you can, while keeping track with the OOC thread in a seperate window to see what people were saying at the time. If you can do that you will never have to have a part of the STGOD explained to you again.

As it's been said, who would want earth?
Still, deep down, I want to see someone to fight their way through one.

If one's willing to go that far. The fact is massacring civilians under any circumstances is a bad PR move.Pablo Sanchez wrote:This is war. Don't be so damn pessimistic. Right now I'm planning on winning the damn war and then using my superpower status.Agent Fisher wrote:of course for every winner there must be a loser. Monacora conquered Earth in the 21st and early 22nd Century. Along with providing a neat little back story for my nations reliance on its Army it gave an excuse for there being other nations on Earth (I.E. the Asgard originally, the NAU, the Russkis, etc., etc.) that had little original basis in current nations.Agent Fisher wrote:what do you mean by that?Straha wrote:Diaspora ships, fleeing our coming.
Considering that we had originally (in STGOD 1) established first serious space colonization as around 2400s I would assume that to fit you in to the back-plot you were fleeing the coming conquest of Earth by the Monacoran hordes.

Darksider, in case you've forgotten, they came back within a few hours and you still have to finish that battle before Tycho shows up.

What makes you think they aren't there yet?
I called them while I was attacking newport.
The UP had to take time to form the task force and launch it after me (Remember, you didn't follow me outright)
There was an interval while I was hiding behind the moon, the battle itself, and the time it took for the UP forces to jump back to newport, rearm and recive reinforcements, and jump back

Because 1.) Tycho said it would take over a day for his forces to get there, 2.) Frigid followed soon thereafter as soon as the task force regrouped, and 3.) Tycho launched his fleet late, after your admiral wondered aloud in the game thread as to where the hell he was. You're in UP territory; they can get to you well before Tycho can. 4.) Just talked this out with Tycho; he himself said he doesn't expect to arrive until after the battle.Darksider wrote:What makes you think they aren't there yet?

Rogue, Frigid retreated over that world. Remember? Now, he would need to wheel about and pick up reinforcements, and then launch against Darksider. That would probably take another, oh, 2-3 hours.
Tycho's attack launched the same time Darksider's did, but it's a longer trip. Tycho's vessels were en route when Darksdier's admiral complained about them not being in theatre.
As for this battle you bring up, Darksider is on the run until the reinforcements can arrive, so it's really unimportant. We can safely fast forewards in this theatre until it reaches the point your attack fleet is at- i.e, a day after hostilities open up.
