But he's very good at putting a good face on bad policy and maneuvering the public into thinking he is necessary to the survival of the country. Until Dems start to take Bush seriously, we are going to keep playing under him and he will ride the political road to victory for another 4 years.
I'd say his political strategists are smart, but Bush himself has on several occasions demonstrated that he's about as smart as a brick, i.e. dumb as a rock.

Bush's administration stands as a shining beacon of an example to the contrary of the idea that a candidate's campaign is any indication of how well he will run the country.

Actually, Bush has lead like he campaigned. He did it forcefully, viciously, and with absolutely no regard for the consequences.
As for the notion, one can campaign well and lead poorly. But rarely is a terrible candidate going to produce a stellar president.
Kerry... I'm going to use the wisdom of generations of NCOs on this.

He honestly needs to stop the punching bag imatation and start attacking. You can't win a fight if you never hit the other guy. The aggressor makes the rules, he needs to realize that with Bush there are no rules and play just has dirty, fast and mean. Losing with noblity is fine for a game like STGOD or D&D, but not here.
He has about 2 months to hit hard and he had better hit has harder than a ton of bricks falling from 4 miles up and he should do it across the board from every place he can launch an assualt from.

Or else he is doomed to failure.
He doesn't have it in him, and believe me, my opinion of the man would increase dramatically if he did stand up and take a position.

I didn't say a campaign was no indication of how the candidate would run the country; I said that it was no indication of how well he would run the country. Bush has run a great campaign so far, but he's driven the country off a cliff.
But hey, at least he stuck to that course, regardless of those pesky facts that kept cropping up.

How could you possibly test this hypothesis? Someone who runs a poor campaign isn't going to be elected president, so there's no way to verify what you're saying, unless we have an election where both major parties run shitty campaigns (never seen that happen). It's pure conjecture on your part.

My point exactly. A campaign doesn't necessarily determine everything but it's unlikely that a candidate will do a complete 180 from their campaign.

There have been a number of presidents that have run bad campaigns and still won. Both LBJ and Nixon come to mind off hand. It's just their opponents were worse.
. If Bush were the complete moron I'd like to think he is, he couldn't have had as much success with everything he's done over the last 4 years (including winning two national elections).
I would credit that more to the evil, fleshy genius of Karl Rove.

Frankly, I don't think so. It's more fun to call Bush a puppet and to believe he's a moron being exploited. But the fact is he's not the 'tard people think he is.

Fuck'em hard. They're throwing this game so they can have their liberal wet dream in '08 after Bush fucks over the rest of us for another four years. I for one am ready for the Democratic party to either about face or dissappear.
You really think that's it?

No, Karl Rove is smart. Bush is just an ideologue moron.

The only way the dems are winning this is if kerry dies or bush dies. If bush dies then cheny will take his place and he has about a 30% approval rating last I heard. If kerry dies then someone competent will take his place and thus win the election.
