Having problems changing my pass.
I changed my pass yesterday, then it locked me out, got a new password later, activated it, changed pass to what I desired, and then 'password obselete' or something like that, get new password, repeat 3 times.
Now i'm with the database-givin pass, whats going on? ver has some similer troubles.

You are not supposed to change the password after you receive your activation. You change your password, wait for your new-password activation E-mail to come, click on the new-password activation link, and then login with the new password. In that order.Ace Pace wrote:Having problems changing my pass.

And again while trying to post that. It goes through, but takes forever, and then spits that at me.

Why is the board so intent on getting me to change my password before 7 years is up?Your password will expire in 2831 days, you may change it now or later. Make sure to change it before it actually expires - if you are too late, you may request a password reset later, using the provided link on the login screen
I've been getting oddities for a while now, I think it's got something to do with my cookies. I get on, go along for a while and suddenly I click a link and I'm no longer logged in. I hit back and said log out to see what would happen and this little popup decided to rear its ugly head.
[edit]on second thought I think it has something to do with me allowing popups from SDnet, so I've disallowed them. I'll post again if nonsense continues.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
"Connecting to www.paypal.com"
This always shows up at the bottom of my browser, and the page takes two minutes to fully load. A bit obnoxious, and it doesn't dump me back onto the thread after I've posted. How can I fix this, and WHY IS SDNET CONNECTING ME TO PAYPAL? I dont even have a paypal account, but SDNET trying to patch me into a site where I can get my money taken from me is quite disturbing.
Maybe it's always done this but my net connection is a bit funky this last day or two. Maybe not. Cause for concern?

Am having trouble posting. Once I click 'submit,' the board stalls and never sends me to the "Your post was entered successfully, hooray" page or whatever. If I click X on my browser so the page will stop loading, then click refresh, it'll say "no post mode specified" (because I technically stopped it, even though it doesn't go through on its own). Then when I click the back button, my post is there in the topic review.
I have cable, and usually takes no longer than three seconds for the page to load up, but after sixty seconds, my browser gives up and says there was no answer. This is what keeps happening. Only started today.
PMs aren't working either, but I can view all threads on the board with no problem. WTF.

It's just your net connection. The PayPal image at the top of every page is on a PayPal page, so your web browser has to connect to PayPal's servers to get that one little image.Bugsby wrote:"Connecting to www.paypal.com"

Searches are completely borked. The archive board has no problem with this, but even the 'view your posts' (egosearch) do not work.
Edit: Nevermind. It seemed to be a problem on my end. Flushing cookies and logging in again fixed... whatever the problem was. Sorry.
Edit²: If any mod wishes to delete this post, I'd appreaciate it.

I only get one page on my post history link from my profile. For anything page 2 and beyond, I get "No topics or posts met your search criteria." As far as I can tell, the problem is just with my post history; I checked several other members' before posting this, and found their histories intact.

That error seems to crop up when a search returns too many hits. The other people who don't have this problem probably have fewer posts. It's a bug but I'm not sure what's causing it.Rogue 9 wrote:I only get one page on my post history link from my profile. It does only happen if the person has a lot of posts. The only I've been able to get around it is to simply add "&start=25" at the end of the url.Darth Wong wrote:That error seems to crop up when a search returns too many hits. It would look like this:
http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/search.php ... g&start=25
Since it displays 25 results per page, you simply type in 50 instead of 25, if you want to see the next 25, then 75, and so on until you find what you want.
This is also a good way to skip pages if you know where the particular post you're looking for is, instead of only being able to access the next few pages from the one you're on.
