Is there a problem with me doing a bit with Manticore? Darksider IM'ed me, said "Tycho's not around and since he gave control to you, could you post some stuff." That sounded reasonable to me, so away I went. I won't be doing much, but I will be keeping up the Manticore work until Tycho tells me "I got it."

Rogue, I noticed your OOB doesn't include interdictors. Should I take that as meaning there aren't any or as an oversight?

Can we settle a hard limit for the interdictor range and behaviour? It's likely to matter in the next few battles and I'd like to save the arguements.

It's an oversight. I'll take care of it as soon as I find someone to throttle for not putting a CD key into my copy of Dawn of War. :x

Except at extreme engagement ranges (very long range missiles) interdictors are effective. They cannot be overpowered, you must either destroy the interdictor or flee the field. How's that?

That's fine by me. Do interdictors have a reinforcing effect on each other?

I've got a question I'd like to put to the group, rather than having interdictor could I just have more effective point defense?

I don't see any reason they should.

No. The interdictor is an entirely separate class of warship, not a capability that can be bartered for other advantages.

Wait the fuck a second. Rogue, you didn't have interdictors in your OOB? Neither do most of the Unification powers, and we've been playing it like, well, OOPS! We didn't think of it before, so no interdictors. This has been costly.

Now I learn that you were BSing, with no interdictor in your OOB?

If rogue is allowed to retconn interdictors into his fleet, so should all the Unification members.

Warships have been barted for other abilities before. Look at Monacora after all.

What? Darksider was allowed to retcon in his entire fleet with no repercussions.

I'm talking about when he first attacked Newport, he didn't have a single warship in his OOB, and he was allowed to retcon in his ENTIRE FLEET without a problem.

Because he had already posted his navy in the orginal thread perhaps?

that's fucking well different and you know it. All his shit was in his original OOB, he simply forgot to copy it over. You, on the other hand, did NOT have interdictors in any of your OOBs until now.

Don't be retarded.

1) Darksider was allowed to put his OOB in because his vessels had previously been established to exist (unlike your interdictors) and his mistake was simply in forgetting to place them in the New OOB thread. This was the only reason he was not penalized, as I said at the time.
2) Rogue 9 never mentioned any Nashtari interdictors in the OOC, IC, or OOB threads before September 10, at which point they simply appear from nowhere.

The difference in the two situations is obvious. Darksider was correcting an oversight, Rogue 9 is apparently creating forces from scratch. So unless he can show me when he built these vessels (by linking to a post) then he's SOL.

No, what he did was he attacked Newport, and even named the fleet if I recall correctly. What had happened was that he forgot to copy paste the fleet from his Original OOB to the New OOB thread, and to the Game Thread.

That's an honnest mistake, a retconn is where we remove entire actions from the game, or change them around so that the chain events was different then the one posted in the thread.

would it be alright if i posted a few things that have already happened. I need to set some things going, but it is kinda hard to do so right now since time has slowed down for the battle.

Unless you are honestly suggesting that Tycho never had a fleet. I know this to be untrue: Im controlling it now.

And as to interdictors? Yeah, I forgot to put them in my OOB, too. So I dont have them. If I did, they would have been at Brethis and I would have destroyed Aly's fleet to the ship. As is, about a third got away. That's because I don't retcon without mod permission. Which means I dont retcon.

Sure. You can advance your own timeline as much as you want, just keep in mind that you are getting ahead of things and you will have to catch up. By the same token, you can go back in time for a bit, as long as your brief step back doesn't effect today's events. For example, making a post "3 years ago" that you started a spec ops program and then posting that it has finally come to fruition is a no-no. Unless that program is in your OOB, of course. Other than that, it's all good.

1.) When was it decided that Interdictors were an allowable technology? At the beginning of the game, no one had them at all. 2.) I've been led to understand that at some point it was decided that interdictors were allowable, and a small number was allowed to be added to the support ships of each fleet. 3.) Darksider didn't just copy his original OOB over from the old OOB thread; he expanded on it. A lot. 4.) My OOB (along with a lot of other people's) was not completed right away; Marcao took forever to finish his, for example. Are you seriously suggesting that I didn't have any ground troops until I got around to putting them into my OOB? Because I didn't finish detailing my army and it's equipment until at least four months into the game, possibly later. When was this magic date after which OOBs were declared done and you're SOL if you forgot anything further? I missed the memo.
