I can see the arrow siloueted against the white of the armor. The arrow went through the body glove.

Not very much to debate really. This was one of the things I paid very close attention to watching ROTJ earlier this week (ok, I watched all three movies a couple of times this week

). I've never understood how there ever could be any controversies about this, as it always has been clear to me (and to any sane people) what occured. Dorkstar has many, many points to concede...

Of course, there is a seperate issue of how the arrows penetrated the body glove at all. Those arrows had cut wood tips, didn't have fletching and were flopping in flight around because of it, were travelling dirt slow for arrows, and couldn't have been fired from a bow with a large pull. They should be hard pressed to penetrate bareskin or cardboard, let alone the stormtroopers body glove.

Weird shit.

All you really needed to look at was the amount of dead or wounded Stormtroopers after the big ewok ambush. Not many. That can be seen with the tapes.

That should end any debate on the subject. Even you-know-who can't deny it without pretending to be blind.

What I've always found amazing is his "Stormtroopers are blind" arguement, how Obi-wan waved his hand and ran right past the stormtroopers without them seeing him, so Stormtroopers must have bad eyesight and be stupid.

I've known FIVE YEAR OLDS that could tell that Obi-wan used a jedi mind trick! What do you think the hand-waving was for???

PowerDVD's done that before when I've used it. I use MPlayer Classic for most image taking now.

There's a way you can fix PowerDVD, but I forget how. You need to order it to take the capture in the proper way.

Even with VHS it is quite clear it was sharpnel not a blaster bolt that hit Leia.

To "Fix" powerdvd, (at least this is how it works in version 5.x), go:

Configuration--->

Player Setting tab---->

"Advanced" button---->

Snapshot tab:
(select capture to file) for Default Capture Mode

(select current video window size) for Captured Aspect Ratio

That's when you're running the video full screen and it will capture the aspect ratio (assuming you've selected keep aspect ratio for the widescreen version). That way it captures it how you see it, rather than that weird squished version which is the default.

With regard to the arrow, the only thing that needs to be said is "Okay. If you have a surface that is penetrated by a line, and you're looking at that surface from the side, are you going to see the surface or the line in the area of intersection? DarkStar says you'll see the line."
