The first you can see a whole bunch of what are quite obviously matte painted in background ships, however the one in the second picture which is definately a model and comes quite close to the camera.

1st pic, wide view

2nd pic, close up of strange ship
Now I have 2 things on that ship. It looks like a small version of a Republic Cruiser. And this is on a limb, but the ship does go by fast, in the DVD Director Commentary, one of the "guests" say that the image outside the viewports say that is in fact the outside of a galaxy, that has been debated before but Lucas' doesnt make a statment about what the other said, it could be Vong, the hull dosent seem to be smooth and i cant see a vapor trail like other SW ships

No, it's not a Vong ship. Do I really need to explain why?

And I don't care what a commentary person says, Luke and Co are not looking at the galaxy outside their window.

Not wanting you to explain it, but the Vong were in the galaxy during that time. They new of the battles between the Alliance and Empire (From some NJO source, might be tf.net)

it could have been the Rischi Maze, the minor galaxy

No, the Vong were not in the galaxy during TESB. The Vong did not exist until 1999. Now do you get it? :P

And that object cannot be a galaxy, period. Galaxies take hundreds of millions of years to rotate once, they don't cruise about at relativistic speeds.

I get what your saying that there "new" to the SW galaxy

Forget about the ship maby appearing in The SE. or it was something else. The Vong in the SW sense was in the SW galaxy, they were in the galaxy shortly before the events of Rogue Planet, takes place in the Old Republic.
Is it possible that GL and company put it in just to keep Del Rey happy.
I mean there are Space Odessy ships in AOTC just put in there for show and theres Corellian ships in BladRunner just for show

Lucas needs to keep a book publisher happy? And I thought I didn't have to explain why it isn't a Vong ship...

It's obviously mechanical
The Vong didn't exist until 1999
Lucas doesn't give a fart about what the EU does
What are these nonexistant vapor trails?

EDIT:

The Discovery's pod in TPM and the MF in Blade Runner are humorous background references, not firm links between different movie series.

ok, i through up the Vong thing just to make a conversation about the galaxy thing (i have always believed it was a system anyway) but i was wondering if anyone caught the DC about it. Since we debated that a month or 2 ago. Anways it looks like a small Republic Cruiser, i have seen that someplace before

in the N64 Racer. Nen Yim or something Ven (the only guy who has the engines in the back of his podracer, it was bluish) does anyone know what type of engines he had on his racer and if its possible that they could have comefrom or be used on a space navy worthy ship?

The ship must be at least 100 meters long.

What StarshipTitanic means, is that the Vong were first written of in 1999, while the SE was released in 1997 onwards.

In pic 4 beneath the galofree, it almost looks like a Minbari warcruiser. Clearly not it, but kinda looks like it.

In the same pic of the fleet in ESB, there seems to be a Corellian-made ship beneath the Gallofree transport to the left in the frame. It´s got a hammer-head up front, but apparantly a small set of engines in the back (smaller than the CR-90´s).
