I'm actually not going to be invading anyone, least of all Iceland. As a peaceful and self-sufficient trading nation I've got no obvious socio-economic causes for conflict. I do, however, want to keep a stranglehold on the western Mediterranean trade routes and the flexibility to engage most other Mediterranean nations if necessary.
Good luck on that stranglehold. You've got competition, me.

Yes, actually, yes I do. Not an Uber-Navy of doom, mind you, but a good navy nonetheless.

It's a bit early to say, but I'd say 15 or 20 Regis worth might be best if you intend to wield that sort of might. Or an alliance with a far reaching power of aerial might. *dangle, hope, needs a Medi airbase*

If it's going to cost me that many regiments and sour relations with an immediate neighbor who happens to be a fellow pseudo-republic, it's not worth the cost.

Okay, beginnings of my OOB up. The dwarven subcultures are based heavily on the dwarven culture that I wrote for the Quentriandal roleplaying forums. Question: Would black powder be an unacceptable thing to have? (As I envision it, the blasting powder is considered sacred by the dwarves and is not used for combat/is dishonorable to use for combat, but rather for tunnelling, though I acknowledge that it could cause problems if someone somehow managed to steal some.)

Who says you get to simply declare a stranglehold on Mediterranean trade? The only way to do that is to control all of the associated ports directly. A galley fleet does not have the endurance to conduct a blockade or exercise control of the sea in the traditional sense.

If I'm the gray I'd rather cut off at the Spanish land bridge and extend further into France.

As I said 20 minutes ago, I wasn't going to try it anyway. But we're all glad you're here, Professor. I was afraid that we would be able to use non-literal language and get away with it.

[2] Tripolitania is part of my empire. That is the deal I gave Straha

I said I'd have everything east of modern day Tunisia. That's what it looks like to me.

Judging by the response I got from Thirdfain, yes. You either cannot use it to propel something, or can't have magic. And it'll probably be rather expensive...

Well I don't want to use it for combat, so if it's going to cost me combat regiments, it's not worth it.

That isn't you in the red. That's me. You have to PM Thirdfain to register your nation. You have not done this, so you are not on the map. Also, I never asked for Tunisia, the map is in error giving it to me.

If you want to control more of North Africa, I would be perfectly willing to simply occupy the north of Spain instead.
