Vader's repelling of Han's gunfire - armor or the Force?

Is Vader supposed to be blocking the shots with his cybernetic and possibly armored hands, or is he supposed to be deflecting or absorbing the shots with the power of the force, in this scene? Is there an official line on this?

It's the Force. There is a time delay in the film, as Poe shows on his site.

To absorb and re-direct energy is clearly a force feat.

In Return of the Jedi, a blaster bolt burned a hole in Luke's fake hand. That didn't happen to Vader. Must have been the force. Plus the novelizations state it was the force (i think?).

Did they reflect off his hand? I never saw the SE editions, but in the ORIGINAL Star Wars he absorbed them.

Literally this has been done before...heck when Wayne's pages were up he had a detailed step by step of the scene and showing the redirection of the bolt onto the left wall next to Han.

Thus answered....locking.
