Is he stumbling more? Yes... making sense, yes, just not very clear. Quite honestly, he's trying to much to talk in that "common American" tone he is given credit for.Badme wrote:Bush is stumbling waaaaay more than he was at the beginning. And 'making no sense'

Who didn't expect Bush to look poor in this debate? You would be hard-pressed to find even those on the Right who thought Bush would do very well in this or any debate against Kerry. I certainly expected him to trip over his words. He's always done so in the past, so what's the surprise?Badme wrote:Bush is stumbling waaaaay more than he was at the beginning. And 'making no sense'
Yeah, Bushie is stumbling pretty bad now. He was on game (perhaps not a debate but the game) earlier, but now he looks rattled.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

At this point, I think they shouldn't have carted Bush out at all.
What the RNC needed to do was build a Republicant, a conservative robot that is programmed to detect keywords in Kerry's and the debate master's sentences and spit out preprogrammed responses from it's database. It would be exactly the same as what Bush is doing but be more articulate.

Supposedly about another half hourBadme wrote:And Bush just blanked on the Kim Jong Il one. This is getting worse and worse. I predict major gains for Kerry after the debate is over.
...How long does it last, anyway?

I've never viewed Bush as a horrid public speaker. True, he stumbles sometimes, but the way he's simply plumetting everytime Kerry comes back with another riposte is telling.jegs2 wrote:Who didn't expect Bush to look poor in this debate? He missed an opening there, but as already noted, he's tripping all over himself at the moment.Badme wrote:'It was the Uranium, not the Plutonium!'
Um...this changes anything because...?

Foreign policy is the focus this debate. There will be a domestic policy debate later.Gustav32Vasa wrote:So far almost everything has been about the outside wotld, shouldnt something be about the US

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Ooo, backdoor draft, and not using troops just money in Sudan.
Two good openings, lets see if Bush can come back................
Not really expecting him to, but.

Kerry pounded Bush nicely about Sudan with the overextended forces, that was good.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
