Bush: I'll continue to let Putin run his little dictatorship as long as he backs me on the war on terror.

Have a very nice day.

It's a verbal debate, and a presidential one at that. You shouldn't really be looking for air-tight arguments, methinks.

No surprise to me -- Kerry is a much more skilled debator than Bush could ever hope to be.

OK, Kerry is giving Bush a huge window here on Korea. If he fucks up here he is truly lost.

Vladmir?? Isn't it Vladameer?
I disagree. Just because Bush is sucking ass, doesn't make Kerry shine. If anything, he still looks like a 'used car salesman' up there selling shit you don't want.

He's opened himself up to lots of stuff, and just because Bush didn't pounce on nor comment on, doesn't mean its not a problem.

Yes, I am.. Bush is not doing nowhere near as bad as most are portraying him here. He's well rehearsed, and sticks to the point. Kerry is doing well, but he isn't mashing Bush into the ground.

Kerry's initiatives only include fixing Bush's mistakes.

How trite.

He's not coming off that badly. Except for the "Uh...I've got nothing else to say..." about Korea.

Don't think Bush would have done well in a debate against nearly anyone tonight, but then his oratory has always been a severe weakness, especially when having to speak on his feet. His decision-making skills (sticking to a course of action) is his strength. Nobody doubts where he stands.

Bush;

Strength and convictions
Offense
build alliances (no vetos on our security)

God Bless America

I really dont think that Iraq and Afghanistan is a good exempel of free nations.

Kerry's ending speech sounded nicer than Bush's. He *sounded* nicer than Bush, for once.

Bush:
"The transformational power of liberty"
"the mighty mountain"
"the valley of peace"

I'm waiting for Edwards to cream Cheney now.

Heh, I've never payed attention to content in any presidential debates, due to what I perceive as a silly format.

Bush's closing statement is really going to hurt him. Composure in a scripted speech compared to complete panic during the impromptu part does NOT look good for the president.
