I don't oppose the war on Iraq, but I think that if the bar is low enough for us to invade Iraq, than sooner or later we have to take out Saudi Arabia, or do something to staunch the flow of support to terrorists from that country, and acknowledge their role in supporting terrorism, or risk utter hypocrisy.
Too late. The hypocrisy boat sailed the day after 9/11 when the Bin Laden family was allowed to violate the American no-fly zone so they could go home.
Civilian airliners have been violating the No Fly zones for two years. USAF and RAF fighters intercepted them at first and force several to turn back. But the Russians began ignoring the interceptors and just pressed on. It rapidly became clear that they would not fire, and since then there has been regular flight service from several countries through the no fly zones. Fighters still meet every flight though.

Anyway, unless [1] it was a private plane, [2] the family was known to be onboard, you don't have a case for this being some massive act of hypocrisy.

Really, if a pilot does not belive a interceptor will fire, then theres not much that can be done to force the plane down without a very high risk or one or both of the involved aircraft crashing.

If they don't support terrorism they should start asking a lot more questions when Islamic 'charities' show up and ask for money to help 'starving orphans.' If they don't support terrorism they should start keeping a very close eye on the zombie-eyed extremist who's spending a lot of time with disaffected youth at the local mosque. If they don't support terrorism they should have no religious dilemmas over turning in their zombie-eyed Muslim 'brothers' on suspicion of supporting terrorism. If they don't support terrorism they should not scream that imprisoning or killing Muslim terrorists is an attack on Islam. Untill the do these things, they are part of the problem rather than part of the solution.
It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.

I do not know how is the situation there, but the imam of the local mosque here (Milan,Italy) is more than happy of having some agents of the intelligence service giving a look around.Certainly considering them all terrorists supporters by default does not improve the situation.
