Hold just a second, guys. You`re saying that SFB miniatures are still available, and in a CHOICE of materials?!? HOLY TOOKAH!! Where? How much?
yep. And the weird thing is, i found them in Southwest Georgia, the area with one of the most non-existant Sci-Fi fanbases.( around here "Wrastlin" Video Games sell better than RTS, RPGs and FPS) I found a Comic Shop in Valdosta (45 minutes away) that doesn't keep them in stock , but will do a special order. Also a Anime/Comic/Fantasy shop down the road from the first shop carries a small supply of the Pewter Ships.

The coolest this is that Amarillo Designs brought back the Game Science 2200 series plastic ships. I have a Dreadnaught from the GS 2200 line that now, thanks to AD, has a full task force supporting it. I also( i'm still trying to figure this out) have a AD remake Dreadnaught made of some 'glow in the dark' plastic.

I bought 2 fleet boxes( btw these things aren't as cheap as they used to be when i bought my first Fed Dreadnaught for $2.99)
a plastic Fed fleet and a Pewter Klingon Fleet

Plastic Singles are $4.99
Pewter Singles are $7.99
Pewter Destroyer and Scout/Frigate Combos are $14.50
Plastic Fleet boxes are about $25
Pewter Fleet Boxes are about $45

I still say the Glow-In-The-Dark Dreadnought is a Reactor Casulty.

Does the fact that much of a typical class-M planet is liquid help? (it would seem too, but the realm of high-energy physics is just plain wierd, alot of times)
erm no. typical class-m planets has a large surface area which consists of liquid. not overall volume.
yoink.

It will take roughly 2e32 J of energy to destroy an earth sized planet. Anything less and the planet reform. Note this will not blow up a planet Death Star style.

I don't know much about the corvette. She's got some turbolasers
and a pretty strong shield generator, right? (She'd have to
have the latter to survive so many hits in combat with
Vader's ISD.)

The K't'inga is one of my favorites, too. If they were
updated to their Dominion War loadouts, I might see shields
20% GCS strength and a firepower about 30% that of a GCS.
IMO, that correlates to ~24,000 terajoule shields (5.7 MT)
and an effective torpedo/disruptor combo of maybe...half
that?

With even a 3 MT/sec. output, it could take a very long
time to knock down the corvette's shields, whereas a couple
of direct hits from the corvette's biggest weapons would kill
the Klingon ship. Pick up the _SW 2 Incredible Cross-Sections_
to have a rough idea of what we might expect from the corvette;
she's undoubtedly shielded similarly or better than the Queen's
yacht, and would almost certainly have a few weapons comparable
to the Acclamator's smallest batteries.

Oh, and about the minis, guys...

You tried to paint pewter with what sort of paint, pray tell?
I've only got one pewter "model" that I'm going to cast
in resin someday, but I have successfully painted her up
a few times. If you haven't already, try scrubbing the model
in something like Ajax, Comet, or Soft Scrub first, then why
dry, give 'em a few light *enamel* primer coats. After that,
the paint should stick really well.

Misseur Darkstar (I was quite unaware he went by that name on this board, thank you for pointing it out) habitually puts out some rather extreme numbers for trek, and has some sillyness of his own that I wont go into here.

That said, until I find a better-reasoned 'Pro-Trek' site, it will have to do. Perhaps someone could point me in such directions?
I'd say ex-antres station, but that doesn't have a real vewrsus bit to it. Same deal with the Neutral Zone, one of my favorites. Frankly, there aren't alot of versus sites out there, and for the trek ones I've seen alot of them are restating the stuff out of the TMs

i used Equipment Grey Primer to fix the runny paint problem. i then give the ship the coat of paint i find fit. For the Klingon Fleet, i left them in Primer since most people agree that TOS Klingon ships are grey.

btw. Which single engine Fed ship is the Scout and which one is the Destroyer? The Salidin and Hermes look identical, but have different roles.

A low end estimate of the Corvette, 4x 125Mt/s TLs and 4x 25Mt/s heavy laser turrets, ignoring the Military version with 6 double TLs, puts it about equal with DITLs Sovereign including the 2 extra saucer quantum tubes.

SCS from DITL ( Phaser, QTurret, 2 Q tubes, 2 Ptubes)
2,765,000 TW forward firepower= 660mt/s

Without the bonus saucer tubes, its forward FP is only 1,565,000TW or 373 Mt/s

CRC= 600mt/s

A CEC gunship would totally blow away a SCS

Now compare a K'tinga to a SCS and see what happens

You use DITL for weapons power. Prepare to die, be flamed, or be laughed at.

Course DTIL ships still don't stand a chance against the Empire. That sites Star Trek calcs could be canonized and the Empire would still utterly crush the Federation with a minimal force.
