Whatever. Moore's an ass. Everyone knows it. A serious rebuttal to a film that doesn't need a serious rebuttal isn't worth my time and energy. Moore's only contribution through that film was showing footage of battle in Iraq and giving the other side of the war story, the one you didn't see on the news. Debunking his narrations is like correcting the grammar of a two-year-old. Sure, you can do it. But why the hell would I pay to see someone shoot fish in a barrel?

Well, they trot out Ann Coulter in the trailer - immediate red flag. I'm more interested in seeing Michael Moore Hates America - that looks genuinely interesting.

Actually, not everyone knows it. To demonstrate this, I have just posted this on a liberal hellhole board that I only have an account on because it also happens to be a gaming board. There shall be posters leaping to the defense of the sainted Michael Moore, He-Who-Can-Do-No-Wrong, within the hour. Well, it's the middle of the night. But at least by tomorrow morning.Bugsby wrote:Whatever. Moore's an ass. Everyone knows it.

And those people won't go see the movie. Perhaps I was just generalizing my own opinion (not smart, I know), but it is this author's opinion that people who valiantly defend Mr. Moore won't go see the movie, while people who hate him won't bother.Rogue 9 wrote:Actually, not everyone knows it. Or rather, some might bother, but that's just to laugh at how dumb Moore can be. For myself, I content myself with knowing that he is a fool, and leave it at that. He edits a damn good film, though...

I'm wary of anyone who says that "So and so hates America." You can say what you want about Michael Moore, but I truly think that he believes that what he's doing is for America's best. Same for Bush. Neither of them hate America. They just have opposing ideologies about what they think is better for America.Joe wrote:Well, they trot out Ann Coulter in the trailer - immediate red flag. I'd say it's definitely not worth watching. The trailer looks like an extreme republican wankfest. Misrepresenting what MM actually said in his film, calling the whole film a lie, trying to provide proof that Saddam did have WMDs too, ...

For me it'd be like preaching to the choir. Why do I need to see a film on something I've already formed an opinion on? In fact, as someone else said, did F-9/11 really change that many people's opinions? It's a waste of time. I figure people who agreed with the film were already anti-war in Iraq and those who disagreed were already pro-war (or at least pro-Bush).
I fall into the catagory that feels we went in for a reason that didn't exist (WMDs and Hussein's alleged links to Al-Quida) but it turned out there was a good reason (all the people Hussein had tortured and murdered).
My main complaint is we aren't aggressive enough in dealing with the insurgents. If we know where they live, level the place! But no, I guess that would cause 'collateral damage'.
So, when you do something for the wrong reason, but it turns out to be the right thing to do, is that so bad?

FahrenHYPE 9/11 probably won't do much better than being a stocking stuffer for the far loony right come Christmas. It doesn't really change anything, either. After all, the sort of people who this movie would appeal to probably haven't actually seen Fahrenheit 9/11 anyway. (This is kind of a common problem with people who strongly disagree with Michael Moore's movies, they rely almost entirely on hearsay to disagree with it, rather than sitting down and watching it, and then disagreeing with it)
However, it will also probably only increase sales of Fahrenheit 9/11, since nothing will give Moore's movie better publicity than this. This is possibly better than FOXNews trying to sue Al Franken over the cover of his book in terms of cheap effective publicity. I'm just waiting for Moore to publically endorse this movie to get the word out, knowing full well that this will boost his movie sales even more out of sheer contraversy, with a giant shit eating grin on his face.
So congratulations FahrenHYPE 9/11 makers, you've successfully made a film that will probably sell as many copies of Moore's movie as it will yours and will convince people who are already convinced to begin with that Moore was wrong.
*gives a big thumbs up*

I don't know. It seems to me like he loves America the way a wifebeater claims to love his battered wife.Durandal wrote:I'm wary of anyone who says that "So and so hates America." But anyway, the guy said that he seriously isn't trying to advance the theory that Moore hates America, just that he wanted a title that would draw people's attention. Plus, I'm pretty sure he got Penn and Teller onboard to help out, so that's gotta be worth something.

Which one? Moore or the guy making FahrenHYPE?I don't know. It seems to me like he loves America the way a wifebeater claims to love his battered wife.
Or both?
