Pretty much. Sean Hannity doesn't even pretend to be objective, naturally he's going to polish Cheney's knob just because he's a Good Republican and that's the Good Republicans do. :?

MSNBC was saying Cheney WIPED THE FLOOR with Edwards (except Andrea Mitchell) but their polling is 71% for Edwards!

I thought Cheney had the edge but it was in presentation. He was his typical bullshit self. 50% of everything he said was crap. His best moment was the orchestrated attack on Edwards attendance and I fully expect we'll find out it just isn't accurate.

Edwards should have said, "The hypocrisy of this administration is staggering. Somehow I've managed to vote on X-thousand pieces of legislation and the President of the Senate hasn't seen me? More misleading, but the hypocrisy that an administration whose chief officer, the President, spent 42% of his time on vacation leading up to 9/11 just underscores that this group will say anything to stay in power."

That makes the MOE about 5%. Cheney won, by that poll, by a small margin.

The room I was in had about two thirds democrats, and the consensus was that Cheney won a slight victory.

Sean Hannity is a Republican pundit, not a newsman. It shouldn't come as any suprise at all that he's hyping the party.

It would be interesting to see who "won" it. Though I think that win or lose Cheney's performance is going to be a big boost for Bush-Cheney.

Sean Hannity said he felt as if he were watching a college professor schooling a C student in that debate. I'm sorry, Sean must have been watching the Bush-Kerry debate.

I PRAY for a Kerry victory to see what this asshole will say on that day.

Big like Lloyd Bentson's clear victory over a completely embarrassed Dan Quayle? <grin>

This will have little impact on the polls.

Tie. TV and computer aren't in the same room, so I couldn't comment on the blow-by-blow, but I agree all over the place. Cheney came off as a focused and knowledgable, Edwards as passionate and capable. Both had nice one-liners. It will have ZERO impact on the polls. I cant see any undecideds being won over by this debate that really didnt give the edge to either candidate.

Neither candidate answered the questions.

And yeah, Gwen Ifil is a moron. The only reason she got the moderator position is because she is Jim Lehrer's bitch on the News Hour and they hoped some of his journalistic integrity rubbed off on her. Guess not. She was petty, trying to bait the candidates into saying inflamatory remarks and intentionally guiding the candidates away from important issues and onto shit that would cause petty squabbling. I'd be surprised if they let her moderate again. Bring back Jim Lehrer. He is my favorite newsguy EVER.

According to The Daily Show, Cheney broke the quiet, formal nature of the debate by unhinging his jaw and proceeding to begin swallowing Edwards whole. When asked by the moderator to explain his actions, Cheney said, "I need his life force."

Just returned from an event we had at Hunter college, where there was a debate between the Democratic and Republican party officials, followed by us watching the debate. Despite having a whopping 20 people show up, we were filmed by every local station. So if you're in the NYC area, tune in for a chance to see me.

Oh, and I thought Edwards won the debate.

Have a very nice day.

I'm curious; in the beginning of the debate Dick Cheney said that he never claimed connection between Iraq and Al-Queda.

Is that true?

I don't know. But even if he hasn't he's been insinuating it since day 1. 9/11 has created the war on terror and Iraq is part of the war on terror. There are terrorists in Iraq. Iraq has WMD, and al Qaeda wants to use WMD to kill millions of Americans. Statements like these flood Cheney's speeches. So I don't know if Cheney ever let the big one slip and say Iraq = al Qaeda, but he's come right up nex to it, so close there's no difference.

No it is not true. Cheney should not have said "never". Approximately a year ago he did claim that there was a connection between Iraq and Al-Queda . A video clip from the recap showed Cheney contradicted himself on national television.

Cheney, MANY times has claimed DIRECT links between the two. This guy is the least honest of the entire group. He's been debunked to his face many times on many shows even with them replaying video of him saying what he claims never to have said, and then he sits there and says, "That's not what I said."

Also notice ALREADY his big zinger about having never met Edwards is a lie. CNN is running footage of him sitting right next to him at a prayer breakfast and I'm sure MANY other instances will come up, so either Cheney is lying, has alzheimers or has multiple personality disorder. None of these boad well for the ticket.

It's weird. MSNBC and the entire Hardball crew say Cheney won the debate hands down, but the Fox News pundits leaned more towards Edwards.

I really am confused by the pundits as well. I think the MSNBC guys were swayed by Cheney's ACTIONS but not his words. Cheney handled himself well and presented well but most everything he said was clearly more rhetoric and unfounded.

Look at the POLLING CBS has it now at 79% for Edwards and MSNBC has it at 67% for Edwards. Clearly the public saw something different than what a lot of the pundits saw. I'm just glad to hear Fox is saying anything at all against the right. I turned it on for 2 minutes, saw Bill Crystal and HATE that lying SOB so much that I couldn't stand to watch.

I suspect the public has finally caught on to Cheney's act and, like Peter, they no longer buy it when he cries, "Wolf!"

The best news for the Kerry ticket is that there obviously wasn't a clear concensus on this so it will have no positive effect for Bush, thus Bush must rebound on his own Friday.

As long as Kerry doesn't once again revert to going off at the mouth again and keeps answers like they were last Thursday, Bush can't beat him. The best he can hope to do, on his record, is hold his own unless Kerry just flops.

If those are typical online polls that anyone can vote in, I wouldn't put any stock in them. They're very unscientific.
