Anime- Teknoman?

When I was about half-way through high school (1995/96- of course the show is much older than this) I used to watch this show every morning- it only went for two seasons IIRC, but I always thought it was very cool. Anyone else ever heard of it? What do they think of it? Is it's reputation shit or is it seen as a good show?

Oh My GOD! Another person who likes Teknoman! Personally I loved the show, every morning I'd sit down and watch Teknoman followed by Robotech. In case your interested there's a second series of Teknoman (an OAV actually), called *shock horror* Tekkaman 2.

I used to watch that show too whhen it was on... loved it when I caught it.

the Venomiods were cool as hell. Rodom was cool, but I really liked the venomiod design.

I hope they release the series in the us soon.

I think the owner of that site I posted can do something about getting you the second series. It's only like 6 eps long though. If you look around that site they have links to FTPs that have the original series (low quality) and the series is never going to be officially released so...

Tekkaman is actually a remake of a much older show from the late seventues/ early eighties.

I loved that show. It was on Sunday mornings here. I only managed to see a few episodes before they canceled it though.

I got to see the last half of Tekkaman Blade 2 a couple of years ago. I need to find the whole thing.

This is just a big thank you to Neko_Oni; for directing me to that URL I got my hands on the entire series (teknoman 1 and 2). bloody awesome series, I got to see all the episodes I missed when it was on about 5-6 years ago and appreciated the frigging cool plot. Now, question;

Who's the strongest evil Teknoman (without any 'upgrades' if you know what I mean) Blade is obviously the most skilled considering for the most of the show he wasn't even a 'complete' teknoman yet still was able to own all the other memebrs of his family. Darcon (Conrad) isn't counted because he's a teknowarlord.

Sabre: Blade's twin. Not only does he look the coolest, he's the longest survivng villain and takes a lot of punishment. The battle he and Blade have in the last episode lasts for almost an hour (considering Blade's 30 minute time limit and how Sabre lets him recharge so they can fight honorably ...). I think he's the strongest by a mile.

Axe: Trained Blade (Nick) and Sabre (Kane) in martial arts. As a villain he gives Blade a serious run for his money, and it seems that if O'Rourke hadn't intervened in their last battle, giving Blade an opening to fatally stab Axe, Axe would've killed Blade with a point blank quantum energy beam shot.

Sword: Conrad's (Darkon) fiance. I don't know about this one. Ringo and Balzac actually manage to keep her off Blade for a good while when Blade forgets how to transform, and she didn't seem especially strong except in her death throes against Balzac (although Balzac is his inferior suit survived re-entry and she died- probably from that experimental weapon he was using on her)

Dagger: The first teknoman villain. He seems to hold his own against Blade for a few episodes but was utterly incapable of surviving Blade's quantum energy beam. One direct hit and he was vapourized. A question: WHO THE HELL IS HE?

Lance: What a pussy. Blade in his 'teknoman plus' state made him whine like a little bitch and beg for his life- he didn't last two seconds and was easily vapourized by the 'plus' uber quantum energy beam. He was purely there to show how Blade after his metamorphosis could own a regular Teknoman it seems. Again: WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY?

I remeber getting up early to watch Teknoman, it was legendary, I heard it was on DVD, but only in Japan with no English subtitles, apparently all the Aussie here all saw it on Cheez TV, it apparently was heavily edited, in the last battle, rather than Darkon touching the light, then adbreak then aftermath, his hand disintegrates, then he explodes.

Lance: Total wuss, just around so the audience can see what an Blastor Blade Tekno-blast can do to a normal teknoman. I think he was just a ship hand aboard the family's spaceship.

Axe: Can't remember what he's like. He has an axe though.

Rapier: Blade's sis, unfinished like him. Not very powerful.

Omega: Big bad guy, hella hard. Blade's uncle I think.

Yup I saw it on cheez tv as well!!!!! But now I have the fully uncensored, sometimes violent version

They changed the name to Darkon for the English version. I think Rapier's real name is Shara. Anyway we all know the best character was Pegus, especially after he learns to sing.
