Good that it was foiled. I hope that the elections takes place without too much bloodshed and that Hamid Karzai makes a land-slide victory.

Yes, so everyone in a place OTHER THAN Kabul will vote for who they have been told to vote for or face beatings/torture/execution at the hands of local tribal/militia/religious leaders.

All so the US can say: Look we've got a democratically elected mayor - shit I mean a democratically elected president.

Don't be fooled into thinking that this election has ANY qualities of a free and fair nationwide poll.
