WTF?
No it doesn't kill them, it might, wouldn't be my problem, but thats not how it works and thats a fact, it's a fact it amasses in the brain and as long as its there it degrades performance, that returns when it leaves.

Are you stoned right now or something, I mean, is this too hard to grasp?
Again as MW would say, you are trying to polarize the issue here, well fuck that I say.

What the hell is your problem anyway?

WTF are you being a jerk and why did make such an inane answer as "it either kills it or it don't" where the hell did you get that idea? Why does it have to be like that?
Why am I denouncing it when I say it doesn't kill braincells but impairs them until it has left?
Isn't that a more positive outlook?

I have a problem with you making an arbitary line in the sand and saying it kills braincells or it doesn't.
When it clearly doesn't kill braincells, well other stuff in it might, or too much of it for too long, but thats not how it works in general.

You have another external viewpoint to quantify that?
Because this is how I see the events:

me: It doesn't kill the braincells, it impairs communication, until it leaves
you: It either kills them or it don't
me: wtf?
you: Stop hating cannabis!
me: wtf? I said it doesn't kill braincells
you: thats what I've said all along

I am sorry, but this does not make sense.e

I dont get why people like it. My body just felt useless, my head felt like ocean ripples were going through it, and i just plain felt miserable. My thoughts were really stupid too. Good god. To top that, i started twictching uncontrollably. Not like minor muscle stuff, i mean like all my muscles contracting, violent twitches, and i spent a good half-hour crying on my gf's stomach, wishing for death. I think that weed cancelled out the anti-depressants i'm on. I felt just as bad as i did when i wanted to kill myself. I am pissed at myself right now. God damn it.
I hate to say it . . . but let that be a lesson to you. Contrary to popular opinion, marijuana is not good for you. It interferes with your brain's ability to store short-term memories and it does feel exactly like you described. But, stay away from the stuff, it's bad news.

When I was 15 I gave up on doing pot the third time I tried it with a friend. It basically made my body usesless while leaving my mind struggling to keep conscious and aware. Wasn't a pleasant expierience and I later just decided "Fuck this shit, do it all you want but im not touching this crap again"

Since then, I have kept with that statement and don't intend to break it. Alcohol is all I really need to wind down or have fun because it doesn't affect me negatively and doesn't turn me into an ass like it does to some other people.

Which raises the question, what happens when someone drinks your blood?

Personally, I smoked pot intermittently for about six months while I was 15 and 16. I haven't even been around people smoking for the past year though, and I don't intend to change that.

Ah. Makes sense.

Anyways, I think YOU, HDS, are making the arbitrary line. It, as well as other drugs, will either harm you or not. You are neither making a point that t hurts you, nor helps you, but that it encapsulates your brain. Supposedly, you arte trying to make the point that it renders your brain useless, am I correct? In response to that, how does it do that? I would like to see documentation (althopugh I personally have none...I usually have to base arguments on verbal things, and stuff I have read but can't remember where).

I just can't see the merit in deliberately impairing your brain function even if it's only temporary. And while I don't know enough about neurochemistry to know whether it actually causes permanent damage, the mere possibility is more than enough for me to say "hell, no".

Then why do people ride roller coasters? For the adrenaline. Why do people eat chile? For the endorphins.

Same principle, I think.

Not at all. Roller coasters and chili do not manipulate your brain chemistry. Any changes in brain chemistry are entirely natural, caused by your brain's own responses to sensory stimuli. This cannot be compared to any attempt to directly manipulate your brain's chemistry through artificial means.

When you're working with a complex piece of equipment, particularly if you're not sure how it works, it's VERY risky to monkey around with its inner workings. The brain should not be treated any differently.

Heck if I can find that now, swedish magazine called Illustrated Science had an article on it, from 2000 sometime, I'm sure there is much more research one can find but I am not compelled to go look for it.

And no, I think you where making the line in the sand, I said it doesn't kill them but impairs them for the time it's there, and you said it kills them or it doesn't, thats pretty black and white compared to my rather greyish statement.

Personally, I much prefer weed to booze. The only reason I drink so much more than I smoke is because booze is easier to get and I don't have to worry about getting caught or piss tested (twice I've gotten stoned and found out I needed to take a random drug test within two days). Mostly I like weed better because I feel better the next day, though since I went eight rounds with Jose Cuervas last night and helped polish off two cases of Rolling Rock, I've sorta been unhappy with alcohol today.
