My girlfriend got it for me...I like it, the picture quality is superb.
I still have the same Greedo-Han complaint, but doesn't detract that as a whole I like that the OT is on DVD.

Got it, loved it. Only complaint besides the fx errors (that I really don´t give a damn about, anyway), is that my ANH and ESB disks jump from the opening scroll, to about a minute into the movie... I have to rewind just to see the entire opening shots. But, it still doesn´t matter, I´m just happy to see all the pretty pics. @__@
The two ep. III-related features were great as well. Especially the part where Hayden improvises some moves when meeting the Ep. III-game developers, that weird "shoulder-twist" would look great on-screen. And his fighting style really changes when he fights Obi-Wan, from calm and elegant ("he´s in the Zone..." ) to bashing away with his lightsaber while looking sad and angry at the same time.

I have them and am very happy with them, except for the completely unecessary lightsabre touchups in TESB and ROTJ. In terms of TESB especially, where their tampering has made Vader's lightsabre look quite strange. They were *fine* before.

Yep, 2 days before they officially came out.

Definitely have them, definitely love them. My only complaint is the final ROTJ change, and not because of the change they made, but rather that it was executed somewhat poorly. Anakin can be young, old, whatever, but he should at least have the same demeanor the other two have in that scene. Instead, he looks creepy. He finally looks okay by the end of the scene when he stops slouching and stands taller. But when he first appears, he just looks freaky as hell.
Everything else I'm quite pleased with. And yes, the picture and sound quality is outstanding.

I'm in a bit of a quandary about whether to get them or not.
I've got the digitally remastered OT (not the OT-SE just the OT) on video, TPM on video and AoTC on DVD.
And i'm willing to put a bit of money on Lucas bringing out a 6 film box set after RotS.
So do i really need to get the OT box set now?

I think it's a given at this point.DPDarkPrimus wrote:There's no "Hell Yeah, but Han should have shot first" category?
I got them. I didn't have a version on tape since my parents still have one and when I became interested in having my own copies I wanted to wait for DVD. It would have been nice if GL hadn't played around with the movies so much but in general the DVD set is cool.
The extra disk documentary isn't bad either.

Just out of interest is the Greedo shooting first thing the only bitching point about the SE ?

Hell yeah. I got it at 8 AM the day it came out.
Oh, and I noticed another minor change, which I don't believe I've seen any posts about. In the "swing across the chasm" scene in ANH, when Leia is firing the E-11 while Luke readies the swing line, it now sounds like the E-11 normally sounds when it fires, rather than like a terrestrial firearm.

Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil,

I know most people hate that old sound, but I loved it! It sounded like she meant business every time she fired a shot. DAMN YOU, GL!when Leia is firing the E-11 while Luke readies the swing line, it now sounds like the E-11 normally sounds when it fires, rather than like a terrestrial firearm.
And I also noticed the Slave 1 now sounds like its AOTC self when it passes the camera in ESB. Or maybe that isn´t new, just a result of better audio this time...
I got it and I am happy. After all it's the first OT visual media to enter my household.

No. And I refuse to buy them. Lucas is a greedy, self-absorbed ass who has turned his back on the fans and is peddling an inferior product passed off as the true version of Star Wars. The SE version of Star Wars, quite frankly is not worth $15 to me, let alone $50. If I'm going to invest in the DVDs, I would at least want an option to view the movies without the fucking SE scenes, but since George refuses to acknowledge the orginals any more, I'm not going to just bend over and buy a product I don't want. Screw Lucas, and screw the SE.

No, but it's used as the primary rallying call by revision detractors. Another major point is the replacement of "Lapti Nek" with "Jedi Rocks" in RotJ, which personally bothers me a lot more than Greedo shooting first, which I don't really care about.2000AD wrote:Just out of interest is the Greedo shooting first thing the only bitching point about the SE ?
