New-ish Bush political ad

Post by Dark Hellion »

Note, this is a rant, not meant to be a cohesive rebuttle.

So, I am watching the local news and ads come on for Bush. The first is about raising taxes and features some middle age soccer mom in a nice gas guzzling SUV complaining about gas prices and what-not. Boring and uneventful, doesn't move me.
Next, comes the opening line "Has a president ever been dealt a tougher hand?" and I am thinking, this better be a Kerry ad making fun of Shrubbsters special interested.
(Open full rant mode) It is a fucking Bush add. Now, I have 3 fucking words, Bull-Fucking-Shit. How about Washington, he helped build this country from having fuck all. He had nothing, no precidents to follow and did a fucking wonderful job. Or FDR, he was in the middle of THE FUCKING DEPRESSION and fought a World War, not some pansy fuck "War on Terror".
I will give it that shrub has balls, but honestly, is that not the lowest, most fucking idiotic statement I have ever, ever heard in a political ad. You might as well just have a Jesus look alike say vote for Bush cuz I did. It would be a more intellegent add.
I mean...fuck....what the....... (The rant goes unintelligable here)

Opinions?

On further reflection, your spelling is not that bad. "Learn how to form a cohesive sentence" would be a better way to put that.

Disappointed. Not surprised. The answer is of course that Bush hasn't had it too bad, but trying to allege that he had it hardest is just bullshit.

Second, comes the implied allegation that because hard times fell on Bush, he deserves our support. He always likes to bring up "I had to deal with Sept. 11." That's cuz he was president at the time. If Kerry had been president on September 11, he could say the same thing. What hand you are dealt is ENTIRELY irrelevant. The only thing that matters is how you deal with that hand. And Bush has but up what amounts to an abysmal showing. This message just isn't catching on in the media and with the American people, and I just can't figure out why. I'm missing something obvious here, I know.

So let's hear it, people: Why is it not registering in the American consciousness that Bush's foreign policy has been one major fuckup after another for the past three years? Blindness? Non-objective media coverage? Sheer idiocy? Lack of a good "Bush wouldn't know effective foreign policy if it hit him in the face" sound byte?

I'm confused and pissed.

All of the above in my opinion.

I wish I could understand how the September 11 tragedy somehow excuses his bungling of the response to it. The fact remains that despite Bush Administration claims to the contrary, it is possible to determine after the fact whether someone was incompetent. You can't dismiss any such determination as "20/20 hindsight" unless you plan to dissolve all of the military tribunals that normally investigate such matters when they take place in the military.

There have been tons of attack ads on TV from the right here in Pennsylvania, most on them going "John Kerry and the liberals in Congress..." then some BS about him wanting to raise everyones taxes and that he's a flipflopper and that he supports gay marriage (thus making him too liberal for Pennsylvania). Not that with the "Johen Kerry and the liberals in Congress..." every one rolls the word "liberals" around like it drips slime and is a curse word.

Meanwhile, most of the ads from Kerry here have been mostly talking about how great Kerry is. Go figure.

What I've observed about the Bush ads in general is that they have some annonymous guy doing all the talking then finish with a short climp of 'W' saying something to the effect of "I approve this ad". I guess he realizes that most people aren't impressed when he does the actual talking or thinks we can't pin lies on him when they're spoken by someone else?
