This report is good shit. Apparently O'Reilly jerked himself off while he was on the phone with her and has a "Caribbean shower fantasy" that he told her about. Given the detail with which some of this stuff is transcribed, I have to wonder if she started recording their phone conversations. If so, O'Reilly's a dead man.

He';s now insinuating a VLWC (Vast Left Wing conspiracy) because the producer's lawyer is a Democratic contributor (GASP you mean in NYC a lawyer can't be a democrat!?!?) and that she also used to work for CNN and they're ratings have been suffering of late against Fox. (Flail flail away)

Again, the detail with which the accounts come suggest that she either has one hell of a memory or that she recorded some of their phone conversations. In the face of that kind of evidence, Fox simply could not get away with letting O'Reilly keep his job.

I was thinking that if it doesn't severely affect his ratings in a negative way, then he'll probably stay on. It depends on how devout his viewers are, as I can imagine that there's a good portion of his audience that would watch him if he revealed himself to be the anti-Christ.

There was irrefutable proof that Rush Limbaugh is a fucking drug addict and he's doing just fine. I don't think this is going to effect O'Reilly wether there are audiotapes or not. Generally his fans are cut from the drone cloth.

Or it could be a complete fabrication- in which case her memory is irrelevant. Quite frankly, I haven't seen any evidence that he actually did what he's being accused of- just her word against his.

In civil matters, it is not 'beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt' but instead 'preponderance of evidence' supporting on side or another. And presumption of innocence only applies within the framework of the legal system itself.

Still, though I abhor O'Reilly, I will wait and see what evidence is presented on the matter.

When it comes to celebrities and this sort of accusation, I generally tend to side with the celebrity since they are the ones who are the big cash targets. As much as I would like to see the downfall of O'Reilly over a matter such as this, the man is innocent until proven guilty.

Funny, I never said that he was guilty, nor do I presume such. What I said is that he doesn't need to be PROVEN guilty, there just needs to be a preponderence of evidence that demonstrates the platiffs case.

The thing that's wrong with this is that he responded to serious allegations of sexual harassment with a frivolous extortion lawsuit, potentially only the first in a series intended to drive Mackris from the court by overspending her. Which is precisely what he threatened to do to her during one of their repulsive "business" dinners, just before he starting flipping out and obsessing over Al Franken.

EDIT:
Check #78, I think she must have got that one on tape; it is not garnished with a margin-of-error allowing "in effect" like previous statements. The quotation is also very complete and the conversation took place after repeated harassment phone calls from O'Reilly--I think it may be that she had her tape recorded ready for that one.
